Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

It's always been a dream of mine to spend a white Christmas in New York City. There is just something magical about December in NYC whether it's the decorations, (like the giant tree at Rockafeller Center) Ice Skating in the middle of the city, and the snow..It's all beautiful.
I know I say this every year, but 2011 has been quite the whirlwind. There has been so many changes, tragedies, and accomplishments in a matter of months. The years seem to go by faster as I get older which makes me appreciate each day more and more.
Take this time that you have off, and celebrate it with your family. Cherrish the moments you have with your loved ones because you won't have them forever.
Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday!

Winter Tumblr Photos

I pull almost all of my inspiration from blogs, and the rest from magazines and people I see on the street. I am very familiar with blogger, but there has been a new blog site called Tumblr that I'm just starting to really appreciate. I absolutely love that you can type what your feeling or share photos that make you happy with anyone in the world. Here are two beautiful photos that brightened up my day from two of my favorite Tumblr sites.

Christmas Inspired Nails

December is the most exciting month for me. It's a great time to take a break from school and spend quality time with family and friends. Taking random drives to look at Christmas Lights and shopping with your best friends are the best. Everyone seems happier and the air is filled with joy.
I found these candy cane and snowflake nails that were photographed by Tracy Wang that truly inspired me. If your not in the Christmas spirit yet, these nails might help. The snowflake ones are my favorite. All you will need for these tutorials is the right colored polish and a tooth pick or thin brush for the designs.
Fun Holiday nails are always great to show off at any Holiday Party!

Louis Vuitton Spring 2012

Louis Vuitton just came out with their Spring 2012 Ad Campaign starring Daria Strokous and Kati Nescher. The super sweet photos feature gorgeous clothing and ice cream, two of my absolute favorite things. This Ad by Steven Meisel has me smiling from ear to ear. It has my vote for sure!

November Rememberance

The passing of Steve Jobs left a minor whole in my heart. He was a genius of my generation that people will remember forever. Not only did I find out about his death on a devise he created but I respected him and his work very much. Here is a quote from him in his honor to remember what an amazing human being he was.

eleven one eleven

Fall is a magical season filled with beautiful colors and happiness.

I feel like September was the longest month possible, and October flew by faster than ever. But I couldn't be happier that it's the start of November. I am looking forward to the leaves changing colors, cooler weather (so I can wear my new leather jacket), pumpkin spice latte's from Starbucks, and nights spent snuggling under the fireplace while watching movies. Cheers to the last two months of the year. So hard to believe!
Do you have any special family traditions you do for Thanksgiving? I'm excited.

Christine, the founder of Eco Emi came accross a blog post I had on CocoChristine (my old blog) a few months back and sent me a March Eco Emi box to try out.           All the companies are just coming out and un-heard of.

October Birchbox

My Birchbox came early this month, which is exactly what I was hoping for! The theme for this months box is all about keeping your skin, body, and hair healthy.
{My Leopard Print Nails are the Incoco Strips from my September Birchbox}

Birchbox says: "For starters, keep your hands as pretty as your polish with a mineral-rich cream and boost your makeup with a skin-perfecting primer. There's a silky leave-in conditioner that keeps curls glossy, plus a decadent face serum that can be used alone or mixed with foundation for a dewy glow."

{Juno Transformative Lipid Serum & Laura Geller Tinted Primer}

- Since I already have oily skin, this serum didn't really do anything for my skin, so I gave it to my mom who loves it. The smell was interesting, but other than that it's a good product for older skin types.
- The bronzing primer is my favorite product that came in my box. It looks darker than it really is, and it gives your face a beautiful glow without being too thick.

{Ouidad Leave-In Conditioner, AHAVA Hand Cream, AHAVA Foot Cream}

- The leave-in conditioner smells amazing, and left my hair soft and light.
- My hands tend to get dry in the Fall/Winter months and this hand cream is the perfect size for my purse. It smells good and doesn't leave my hands feeling greasy.
- An extra in this box was the 2 packets of foot cream which leave my feet feeling like I just got a pedicure. So nice!

Butter London Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection

If your having some trouble chosing the perfect Fall nail color, this might help you decide. These five shades are gorgeous and affordable.
You can find Butter London shades at NORDSTROM or Ulta for $14. Enjoy!

Image via productgirl
1. Toff : A darker dusty rose pink
    2. Wallis : A tarnished metallic gold
                     3. Bluey : A slightly metallic dark peacock blue
             4. Knees Up : A slightly metallic flirty red
               5. No More Waity Katie : A soft lilac glitter

Nonie Creme says of her collection:
"My inspiration was a variation on jewel tones. Imagine taking a traditional jewel tone palette, then moving each shade about two notes to the left. This means garnet instead of a sapphire, and an olive patina gold instead of a brassy or yellow tone. "

DID YOU KNOW: No More Waity Katie was released in March prior to the Royal Wedding!

Steve Jobs - Fashionable?

It's been 1 week since the death of 56 year old Steve Jobs passed away and his style is being remembered. His wardrobe consisted of black mock St. Croix turtlenecks, Levi's 501 jeans, and New Balance sneakers. Well, since his death last Wednesday, the $175 shirt sales have shot up dramatically. Rumor has it that Steve's wardrobe was so basic so he didn't have to waste time thinking about what to wear. Hmmm. Whatever the case may be, he meant a lot to so many people. I can see why technology junkies and businessmen looked up to him. He was a visionary, innovator, and pioneer!

Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere Interview

College Fashionista sat down with Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere back in April to talk about being a fashion blogger, where she grew up, who inspires her, and her first book that she is currently writing. I am beyond excited for her new book, and future blog posts. She is a huge inspiration to me and many others.

Deborah Lippmann Fall 2011 Collection

Deborah Lippmann is my favorite brand of nail polish, right up there with OPI and Essie. On the negetive side, a bottle costs around $16 which is a tad bit more than I'd like to pay. The quality and packaging is well worth it, and these four new Fall colors will have you excited.

                      1. Stormy Weather   2. Billionaire   3. Single Ladies   4. Brick House
                               (edgy granite)     (hunter green)      (deep red)      (shimmering rust)

DID YOU KNOW: Stormy Weather was a collaboration with Narciso Rodriguez. He wanted something bold with strength and edge, so Deborah mixed a new shade by hand in just 24 hours. Incredible!

As the Fall/Winter weather approaches with rain all this week, I've put together six of my all time favorite blushes/shimmer palettes. There is something about the colors of blush that makes me so happy. Most likely it's because they're pink, my favorite color!
