Get To Know Me

I cannot be more excited that it's Friday. It seemed like this week really dragged on, and left me feeling exhausted. Since I feel like typing away and venting a little bit tonight, I thought you might want to get to know me a little better. These are absolutely random questions that I thought would be fun to answer!

Are you named after someone?
-Kinda. My parents were going to name me Molly, but they chose Christine after my great grandmothers middle name and the fact that I was born so close to Christmas.

When was the last time you cried?
-Honestly I cry all the time. It was probably a couple days ago. I cry over a sad Facebook video, or a YouTube proposal, or any emotional movie. I'm also almost always crying of laughter. So yeah, It was recent.

Do you have kids?
-Not yet, but I definitely want at least two. I am an only child, so I know what that's like. I want a big family since all of mine has pretty much passed.

Do you have a guilty pleasure?
-I'm a total ice cream fanatic and I have one hell of a sweet tooth, so I would say it's eating ice cream. I love a good ice cream sundae, or banana split and sometimes I feel guilty afterwards. whoops! It's okay though, sometimes it's alright to splurge.

What is your favorite cereal?
-I'm not much of a breakfast person unless it's the weekend. I hardly ever eat cereal, l but when I was a child it used to be frosted flakes or honey nut cheerios. During the week, I'm usually in a hurry, so I grab a banana and a granola bar and eat it in the car on the way to work accompanied by my coffee of course.

What is the first thing you notice about people?
-Their personality. I am very much a people person. I'd like to think that everyone is my friend, so when I meet someone for the first time I definitely notice if they're kind of have a good sense of humor. Then I'll move onto their fashion sense, someone's outfit can say a lot about them!

Favorite drugstore makeup brand?
Maybelline

Favorite high end makeup brand?
NARS, Bobbi Brown, Marc Jacobs, Laura Mercier, Urban Decay.. They're all fantastic!

What color are your eyes?
-Hazel, but more on the brown side. They change colors.

Favorite TV show?
-I have so many shows that I love watching. Some of my favorites are: Rookie Blue, Revenge, Chrisley Knows Best, Donnie Loves Jenny, New Girl, The Mindy Project, Orange Is The New Black, Chasing Life, Mr. Robot, and Shark Tank.

Summer or Winter?
-In California, Winter ... Anywhere else in the world, Summer. My perfect climate would be sunny, blue sky, white fluffy clouds, 75 degrees. But I also love a huge thunderstorm.

What's the furthest you've been from home?
-Considering I live in California, the farthest I've been is New York. The first time I had ever been on a plane, I flew across the United States by myself two years ago. My best friend moved there in 2013 to attend Parsons The New School for Design, so I visit every Summer. But traveling to Europe, is on my bucket list.

Do you have special talents?
-I see the positive in everyone, and my happy, positive outlook tends to rub off on people.

Where were you born?
-Fresno, California ... Although, sometimes I'd think Santa Cruz since I spent most of my childhood there.

Do you have any pets?
-Yes. My boyfriend and I have a black lab/pit mix named Reddick, named after a Oakland Athletics baseball player.

What are your hobbies?
-Blogging. I used to research all things beauty and fashion related and read style magazines, and make inspiration boards. Now I can combine all that with my blog. I also really enjoy spending time outdoors and taking Reddick on hikes.

Coffee or Tea?
COFFEE. COFFEE. COFFEE!!!  #LadiesWhoCaffeinate
But I enjoy a cup of earl grey tea sometimes with breakfast or chamomile in the evenings.

Favorite movie?
Now that is a really hard one. Chasing Mavericks, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Pretty Woman, Sweet Home Alabama, 50 First Dates, Big Daddy, those are a few of my favorites.

What color is your car?
-A dark merlot maroone color.

Where do you want to live?
-California is a great state but I see myself moving up towards Washington or Oregon. My boyfriend Justin and I are considering moving within the next year or so since we have a lot of family and friends up there.

Favorite Food?
Pizza. Every kind of pizza. All the pizza in the world... with a LOT of cheese!

Other random facts: I have a small obsession with squirrels, I buy an obscene amount of patterned ankle socks, I drink way too much caffeine that any human should consume in a day, I could eat ice cream at every meal, rainbow sprinkles make me happy, people say I'm a horrible driver (i beg to differ), and I love to love.

Now that you know a little bit about me, feel free to leave a comment letting me know a little bit about you. Don't forget to link your blog. Also, if there's anything else you're curious about that I didn't answer, just ask me!

Have a lovely weekend. xoxo -Christine Michelle

Activated Charcoal - New In Beauty

When you search the internet for "how to get whiter teeth at home" or "better skincare products", activated charcoal is an ingredient you'll see come up more than coconut oil.

"Activated charcoal is actually carbon. Carbon acts like a magnet that attaches onto dirt and oil and pulls it from the surface." It's ideal for oily and acne-prone skin but all skin types can benefit from using the newly raved-about ingredient. The product can look scary because it's thick and black. It can resemble putting concrete on your face but your skin will thank you later.

Not only is activated charcoal used for pulling toxins out of the body and treating illness, people are using it as a teeth whitener too. Be careful though when using this because it will stain anything it touches, except for your skin and teeth of course.

More recently beauty brands have released tons of different products containing the ingredient but for DIY recipes you can buy it in a capsule or powder form.

Activated charcoal is also really good for food poisoning, surprisingly. It reduces intestinal gas, prevents hangovers, lowers cholesterol levels, and treats bile flow problems during pregnancy.

Who would have thought that this "charcoal" would ever be seen in your beauty regimen? Not Me! Thanks to hellonatural.co for the great information, below are 20 of the top charcoal related products on the market now.

Karlie Kloss Launches YouTube Channel

If you've never heard of Karlie Kloss then you've been hiding under a rock for the past few years. The (almost) 23 year old is one of the most popular high fashion models, Nike endorsed athlete, Victoria's Secret Angel, and to top it off, Taylor Swift's BFF.
Karlie Kloss

[Image: Karlie Kloss by christinemwest on Polyvore]

An exciting thing happened on July 21, 2015 when Karlie launched a YouTube channel, which now has over a hundred thousand subscribers within an 8 day span. She has uploaded 3 videos so far and it looks like "vlogs" (video blogs) will be uploaded frequently following her daily life, much like her Instagram account. You'd think that she'd already be so busy, how would she have time to add filming onto her schedule? With such a high following through social media, you can see that Karlie is adored by many people. Her beauty and positive personality is sure to make her channel a hot commodity.

Whats great about YouTube is that it's fast and easy access to millions of people in which Karlie has total control of. An article on style.com states that "YouTube can turn a person into a profitable brand in a way that no other platform can yet", which is true. There are a ton of successful "YouTubers" that gain so many incredible opportunities from the outcome that YouTube has provided for them.

Karlie started her modeling career at just the small age of 14 where she was born in Chicago, Illinois. In her first real gig she posed for Scene Magazine and landed the cover which led her to New York. At age 16 she she left Elite (the management which she started with) and signed with NEXT Model Management. In 2008 she walked 31 runways in New York Fashion Week, 20 shows in Milan, and 13 shows in Paris, with a total of 64 shows in a single season...which is INCREDIBLE aka M-A-J-O-R (in a Rachel Zoe voice). She was with NEXT Model Managment for 4 years and then signed with IMG Models who she's still currently with.

Well, I'm already subscribed to Karlie's channel because I just love her too much not to be. Will you hit that subscribe button too? I hope so!

What is Oil Pulling?

I have always known that oils are good for the skin and more recently coconut oil has been talked about non-stop in the beauty industry for it's multi-purpose uses. Well, I just found out about something called "oil pulling" and was intrigued on what it actually was, so I decided to research it and find out.
Oil Pulling also known as "kavala" or "gundusha" is an ancient Ayurvedic dental technique that involves swishing 1 tablespoon of oil in your mouth on an empty stomach for twenty minutes. The oil draws out toxins in your body, and not only will improve oral health but the entire body as well.

Apparently oil pulling has been around for hundreds of years and is an ancient folk remedy. By swishing the coconut oil in your mouth it whitens the teeth, prevents cavities, gives you better breath, helps you sleep, and relieves headaches. You can honestly use any oil but coconut oil is the most recommended because it can do much more than other oils.

The oil will double in size as you swish it in your mouth so you should start with half of a tablespoon first to get used to the texture. Make sure you spit the oil into a trash can or outside considering the liquid mush could clog your pipes. Doctors say that coconut oil naturally makes a great mouthwash because it is organic and contains a lot of Vitamin E which acts as an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal antioxidant.

July Happy Mail

This is my second time getting A Beautiful Mess' Happy Mail and I am just so in love with this subscription service. Personally, not only do I love receiving cards but I enjoy gifting cards more than anything. I don't have a lot of friends or family getting married so the cards that I'm sending are mostly thank you's, birthday's, and friendship cards (since my best friends live hundreds of miles apart from me).

"Whether you're sending a message to let someone know you care, to spread some encouragement, or to dish out a laugh or brighten someone's day, you've got options for all that and more, with plenty of cards to get the ball rolling."

This month included: 8 cards, 1 postcard, with 9 envelopes. Also included are envelopes with neon tones, and classic color combos, a cute pencil, 2 art prints, and 2 sets of stickers.

Card Examples:
Keepin It Real -- blank inside
Happy Birthday To You -- blank inside
You Spin Me Right Round Baby --blank inside
I love You Berry Much --blank inside
#soulmates w/ giraffes -- blank inside
Lets Taco Bout It -- postcard
Swan Wedding Card
Word Search Card -- blank inside
"There's More To Life Than Being Really, Really, Really, Ridiculously Good Looking" -- inside: But You're Handling It Just Fine

If you go card shopping anywhere, cards range between $4-$6 each and you usually buy one at a time for a special occasion whenever it comes up. Happy Mail makes it really convenient for you to keep a card collection. Whenever you need a card for someone you can pick from a variety you already have. Surely the person you're giving the card to won't already have it or get it from someone else because they are specially handmade from A Beautiful Mess' designers. I also love that they include art prints every month, because you can always frame them and put them around your house or gift them to someone else. For $50 worth of stationary you only pay $15 a month which is unbelievable. Plus, they are all so bright and fun and super cute!

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow & Powder Glow Illuminator

I spotted the new L'Oreal True Match Lumi display in the cosmetics section a few weeks ago and have been anxious to try it. I have a few bronzers and a highlighter that I live by so I have not purchased the product yet, however testing out the pigmentation almost got me. I might have to buy the powder this week I loved it so much. They liquid and the powder come in 3 different shades - cool, neutral, and warm and the rose tones look great on a lot of different skin colors.

The Illuminating powder reminds me a lot of the Diorskin Nude Shimmer Illuminating Powder which retails for $56 at Sephora. I know that Dior Shimmer Bricks and Illumonators are raved about all over the internet but you could buy four of the L'Oreal products for the price of one Dior powder!

You can purchase the L'Oreal True Match Lumi collection at any drugstore for $12.99!

Starbucks Drinks Under 200 Calories

Starting Monday July 27th I'm going a "diet" meaning I'm really going to watch what I put in my mouth. A lot less sugar and a lot less carbs, with a whole lot more water. Lets be real here, I get Starbucks at least once a day, sometimes even twice which is not only expensive but it's a lot of unnecessary calories that I'm drinking.

After doing a lot of researching online, I found 10 drinks all under 200 calories that will pretty much match anyone's taste buds. I have to, and I really mean HAVE TO, have a cup of coffee every morning or there is no way I could function considering the amount of sleep I get. Nike Roshe Flyknit Custom iD

Whenever I have a massive amount of time (only on the weekends, if I'm lucky) I like to aimlessly browse the internet. Whether that means checking my Twitter feed, updating Instagram, pinning on Pinterest or simply creating customized Nike's, I love to just wander into the web world. I was watching one of my friends on YouTube as she did an unboxing video of her new Nike's and they were gorgeous. I have quite the Nike collection already, but I've never actually customized my own. Since the new Roshe style came out I've wanted a pair and thought I should get a personalized set for myself. I chose Black and the base color and went for a pastel multi-color pattern all over. The signature Nike swoosh I chose to be gold which brings focus to the entire shoe. I'm obsessed with these!

Kylie Jenner Graduation Party

Kylie Jenner graduated high school earlier this month so a party was bound to happen. The 17 year old was granted a surprise party on Thursday July 23rd hosted by Ryan Seacrest himself.

The party included a photo booth as well as many famous people including rumored boyfriend Tyga. There were a bunch of photos and videos posted on her snapchat last night, and we got to see a lot of how the night went. Her half-sister Khloe attended wearing a slingy leopard print dress and shook her ass (twerked) all night. Other sisters Kim and Kourtney were also in attendance as well as Kylie's best friend Pia Mia.

Now lets talk about the presents... She already has a house and a car, so what do you think her graduation present was. Kylie got a white gold Cartier bracelet ($7,500-$8,000) and a gold/diamond Day Date President Rolex Watch ($30,000). Now lets compare, I got a iPhone 3gS for my graduation present, not your typical Kardashian-Jenner gift that's forsure!

Kylie turns 18 years old on August 10th and plans to move out immediately. She already bought her house in February, a whopping $2.7 million mansion in Calabasas, California close to her family. If there is one child "celebrity" who we watched grow up too fast, it's Kylie Jenner, but she's gorgeous, and likable, and interesting. When you are born into that kind of money, it's almost impossible not to grow up too fast. The hierarchy of sisters she has surrounded by her is a lot to handle. But damn, she looks good!

DIY Teeth Whitener

Whenever I wanted to get my teeth super duper white I always used Crest Whitestrips. The 10-Step box has worked very well in the past but it can be costly and bad for sensitive teeth.

While browsing on Pinterest I saw a bunch of home recipes that seemed to actually work. I have added this to my brushing routine while using the Crest 3D whitening toothpaste and I can see a slight difference.

FIRST: Swish your mouth with hydrogen peroxide for 1-2 minutes everyday ... Doesn't matter when!

SECOND: Brush your teeth two times a day for 2 minutes each with this homemade toothpaste mix: 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide, and 1/2 teaspoon of water.

THIRD: Apply with a Q-Tip and leave on your teeth for 1-2 minutes two times a day : 1/4 cup baking soda, and lemon juice from half a lemon,

The baking soda and lemon juice are a natural acid and combined it will pull plaque and access grime out of your teeth which will prepare for them to get brighter with the peroxide. If you look on all your whitening products at home, all of them will contain hydrogen peroxide so naturally swishing it in your mouth alone will speed up the process. Also, the peroxide will kill all the bacteria in your mouth and help to keep you from getting sick.

JUST DO NOT SWALLOW ANY OF THESE!

Essie Neon 2015 Collection

Along with China Glaze, Essie used music culture as inspiration for their Summer Neon 2015 Collection. With a music festival theme, each name of every polish is named after an EDM festivity. Honestly after seeing this collection there is only one real "neon" color with the others just being bright. I was expecting neon yellows and pinks and a bright neon construction orange color, but they definitely played it safe this year.

In order from left to right:
Essie 'Groove Is In The Heat' - electrified baby pink
Essie 'Coacha'bella' - hot pink creme
Essie 'All Access Pass' - vivid indigo creme
Essie 'Make Some Noise' - bright cayan creme
Essie 'Melody Maker' - vivid teal green
Essie 'Vibrant Vibes' - neon lime green

Mario Testino -Towel Series

Mario Testino is one of the best fashion photographers of ALL TIME.. literally he has photographed everyone who is "somebody" in the fashion industry. He is extremely talented and has a way behind the lens unlike any other photographer.

A series that started randomly on his instagram page was the beginning of something "real" and unique when he simply noticed Kate Moss sitting in a rob on set and decided to photograph her. " A white towel was wrapped tightly around her head, and the ongoing series has grown to become a liberating lens."

The meaning behind the towel comes from freedom of expression. He realized while photographing the models and celebrities that they can do anything they want with the towel and express themselves in whatever way they want.

Anna Wintour (EIC of American Vogue) recently became his latest picture. We are not used to seeing miss Wintour in such casual attire so this photo is a real gem. Her signature bob and cut-across bangs nails this photo head on as she gives the camera a grin (the face of a powerful fashion "God"). To see more of the Towel Series photos, visit Mario's Instagram. You won't be disappointed.

Tavi Gevinson Is A New Face For Clinique

[Image via Nick Hudson for Rolling Stone Magazine circa August 2014]

Tavi Gevinson has accomplished a lot for just a nineteen year old. More than most people accomplish in their entire life. She started her fashion blog Style Rookie at the age of twelve which led her to create a powerful voice in pop culture and feminism. Now, she is the founder and editor-in chief of online website Rookie Mag as well as an actress, and most recently the new face of Clinique's social media campaign, #FaceForward. She was chosen by Clinique because she has achieved so much at a young age, and as a global influencer they thought it was a perfect opportunity for this special campaign.

Clinique is a brand who believes that anything is possible. The brand is hoping to encourage a new generation to try the now iconic three-step cleansing system by engaging with young women through their new campaign. With a call out to fresh faced Tavi Gevinson is a look towards the future.

Pineapple Smoothie

Warmer weather and Summer festivities pushes me to try new things. Pinterest has become my holy grail website when it comes to DIY ideas. Actually this smoothie in a pineapple idea came from a YouTube video done by Bethany Mota. Her version looked much better but I promise it tastes just as good. If only I were drinking this on a tropical island while tanning by the ocean... a girl can dream right? So instead, I decided to try and bring the tropics to my home.
Step 1: Get a Pineapple from the grocery store and let it sit out a couple of days so the inside gets soft and juicy.
Step 2: Cut the top off the pineapple evenly so you can use it as your cup.
Step 3: Hollow out the inside of the pineapple. I cut the outer ridges and then used a small scooper to take out the meat.
Step 4: Have your blender nearby so you can add the pineapple to your smoothie mixture. I added ice, orange juice, strawberries, and mango in addition to the pineapple.
Step 5: After your pineapple is some what hollow enough, pour your blended smoothie inside

Add a straw and drink up!

Don't get me wrong, this drink is super cute but it was a pain in the ass to make. The smoothie would have tasted the same in a regular glass, but this just gives a more tropical feel to the drink! Just be aware that this can get pretty messy when scooping out the pineapple. I had to use a few different size knives and a small scoop. If you have time, I'd try to make this at least once. It would be super cute for an outdoor party or a small outdoor barbecue with some friends.

FINISHED DRINK! Yes, it was delicious!

DIY Lush Shower Jelly

A few months ago LUSH Cosmetics was added to my local mall. Since the nearest location was a whopping three hours away before, I never got a chance to really try out their products. Now that I can actually go whenever I want, it's been horrible for my bank account since I want EVERYTHING! In my last LUSH Haul I posted last month I discovered a new purchase (Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly) that I became totally obsessed with. After doing some research, I realized that I could make my own shower jelly at home for half the price, and I could customize it to which ever shape I wanted. The cute shaped jellies give a good lather and are perfect to take while traveling!

My Philosophy Perfume Collection

Philosophy releases a collection of six new fragrances in a variety of different scents. They can be worn individually or combined together to create your own mix. Each 1 oz. size is $40 each, or you can get the My Philosophy layering collection including all six fragrances in 0.33 oz. sizes for $85. I honestly haven't been a huge fan of Philosophy products. I enjoy a few of their shower gels but I feel like they are a bit overpriced for the quality of the products. However, after smelling the fragrances at my local Ulta I was impressed with the different combinations they created. There is a wide variety of different scents that will blend easily with the others which makes the small layering collection a good investment.

My Philosophy: Giving (sparkling musk)
-powdery heliotrope petals, anjou pear, cashmere accord

My Philosophy: Truthful (fruity blossom)
-white magnolia petals, green apple, spring grass

My Philosophy: Expressive (warm citrus)
-moroccan orannge flower, sparkling pink grapefruit, golden amber

My Philosophy: Empowered (cashmere woods)
-cashmere woods, american cedarwood, amber wood

My Philosophy: Compassionate (creamy vanilla)
-white orris, coconut milk, whipped vanilla bean

My Philosophy: Grateful (watery floral)
-pink water lily, honeydew mellon, turkish rose

Garnier Clean Nourishing Cleansing Oil

I have always been skeptical about introducing oils in my skincare routine. I know they are incredibly good for you but from having acne prone skin, they scare me. This product is relatively new and something different that Garnier came out with. The mineral oil is suppose to dissolve makeup and soften the skin. It contains jojoba and macadamia oils which goes deep in the skin to moisturizer and replenish the surface. I was nervous to use this product at first because I didn't know how my skin would react. Yes, the formula is very oily but once your finished rubbing it into your skin and add water it turns into a creamy cleansing-like consistency.

How To Use: Apply 1-3 pumps onto your fingertips and massage it onto your skin. Make sure that your hands and face are dry once applying it. Rub the oil all over your face, including your eyes to get all your eye makeup off. Leave the oil on your skin for a few minutes to let the oil absorb, then rinse with warm water. The formula will leave your skin feeling soft, and now after using this product three times and I can see slowly that my skin is a lot less dry and more nourishing after I'm finished cleansing!

Pont des Arts - Paris

I've never been to Paris before but have always wanted to visit. Among my top three places to see include Fashion Week, Coco Chanel's apartment and lastly the Pont de Arts bridge (which is now being taken apart for what it's known for).

"The Pont des Arts is a Parisian pedestrian bridge linking the Louvre to the south bank of the river." Over the years it became a tradition for couples all over the world to visit the bridge, write their initials on a padlock and attach it to the railing. Now that it had become so popular there was approximately three quarters of a million locks which made the structure weak. In case it couldn't hold all the weight and collapse, the city had to take charge and remove them for good.

"Earlier this month, cranes began detaching sections of the bridge's railings, padlocks, and carting them away for disposal." City Metrics states, "by September, new plexiglass will be installed but for now- wooden boards designed by Parisian graffitti artists and taken the place of padlocks." It looks like a beautiful view from the bridge, especially at night. Even though the locks of love are taken away, I still can't wait to visit this beautiful city one day.

Chasing Mavericks

Today does not feel like a Wednesday, probably because Justin and I took our dog Reddick to Shaver Lake for the day and ate lunch at Shaver Pizza. Since it feels like a lazy Sunday-movie-day, I thought I'd introduce to you one of my all time favorite movies if you haven't seen it already.
Chasing Mavericks is a film that was released in October of 2012 based on a true story filmed in Santa Cruz, California. Local boy Jay Moriarity discovers a love of surfing after he learned about the tide by timing the waves. After falling in the water at a young age he was saved by his next door neighbor Frosty, who also became his mentor and father figure. The biggest waves on Earth called Mavericks, were only a few miles from his home and he wanted to surf them as soon as he could. Frosty (an excellent surfer) began training Jay to surf Mavericks. Along the way they bonded closer together and by the end of it Jay became the youngest boy (age 16) ever featured on Surfing magazine. Sadly, he died while free diving in the Maldives at 22 years old.
I spent most of my childhood in Santa Cruz, it is a beautiful city and they have some of the biggest waves you can ride nearby in Half Moon Bay. Although I did not know Jay personally, I know from what others have said that he was such a great young man. He was always full of life, and looked on the bright side of every situation. This movie does a really good job at capturing the emotions that this story brought out. It is filled with love, passion, and all the strengths that life brings. Let me tell you that it's not your average surfing movie, so If you haven't seen it I recommend you watch it.

Hope your week is going great, it's half way over!

Orange Is The New Black

I was inspired by Netflix hit television show, Orange Is The New Black for this weeks nail polish pick. This neon red-orange color combined with the white and silver/gold sparkle glows in the sunlight and looks beautiful.

Art of Life Cancer Foundation - Healing Garden

The Art of Life is a cancer foundation founded by Dr, Christopher Perkins of Fresno, California. Their mission is to inspire people impacted by cancer to connect and heal through creative expression. "People everywhere touched by cancer will discover the art of life through creative expression. Core values include: inclusiveness, integrity, excellence, respect, empowerment, courage, and faith.

The Art of Life Foundation provides healing arts programs that pair cancer survivors with outstanding local artists in order to co-create unique pieces of art about life, hope, and survivorship. Dr.Perkins founded this foundation with his deep compassion for his patients and a desire for them to address their cancer holistically. He describes The Art of Life phenomenon as "an important step for everyone with a cancer diagnosis - to not just fight to survive, but to understand how cancer can offer each person a new life in a very personal way."

The Art of Life's newest addition - The Healing Garden will be three acres and stretch along the east side of the San Joaquin River located on the edge of Woodward Park in North Fresno. "This collaborative project encourages cancer survivors, families affected by cancer, and the local community to design, build, plant, and creatively express what cancer has taught them about the art of living.

The Healing Garden will feature:
-A cancer ribbon trail as the focal point.
-Art sculptures created by local artists.
-Playscapes for children and their families to nurture the spirit of play and laughter.
-An amphitheater to gather and celebrate life's special moments.
-Areas for reflection with a view of the Sierra Mountains and the flow of the San Joaquin River.
-Picnic tables and benches interspersed throughout for family and friends to gather.
-A labyrinth that will help calm and center visitors as they walk to the center and back again.
-Art kiosks to showcase cancer survivors masterpieces for all to be encouraged.

I am so happy to be involved in this wonderful project as it means so much to me. Dr. Perkins is a fantastic doctor and a wonderful man who has helped my family in a big way. Cancer is something that weighs heavy on my heart as I have lost most of my immediate family to the horrible disease. This project will provide loved ones with bonding time over the art of life all while bringing smiles to their faces. For more information visit artoflifecancer.org.
