MTV Video Music Awards 2015 ReCap

The actual MTV Video Music Awards took place last night (Sunday, August 30th) in Los Angeles hosted by Miley Cyrus. If you missed the show, there was plenty of drama, tears, and memorable fashion moments I'll fill you in on.

Nicki Minaj opened with a melody of "Trini Dem Girls" and "The Night Is Still Young" and ended with a duet of "Bad Blood" with Taylor Swift. It was pretty comical considering the two just ended a Twitter feud a few weeks ago.

Taylor Swift presented the Video Vanguard Award to Kanye West who famously crashed her 2009 VMA acceptance speech. She admitted that his album was the first on she ever bought when she was just 12 years old. She also admitted, "I have been a fan of his, since I can remember, because Kanye defines what it is to be a creative force in music, fashion, and, well, life." Then the two hugged it out and Kanye gave his long acceptance speech following a surprising announcement to the world. Brace yourselves. He ended by saying, "And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided, in 2020, to run for president."

When Nicki Minaj won the VMA for Best Hip-Hop Video, she called Miley out about an interview where she was talking trash on the "Anaconda" artist. Miley was in shock, and sources say this it was totally unplanned.

"Trap Queen" rapper Fetty Wap won the Artist to Watch award, formerly known as Best New Artist.

Justin Bieber performed "Where Are You Now", which he became surprisingly emotional and started crying.

The fashion was a little disappointing, however; Miley Cyrus (host) changed her outfit 14 times so that was entertaining to say the least.

Other perfomances through the night included: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, The Weekend, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber, Pharell Williams, and Tori Kelly.

Below are images of some of the best dressed on the red carpet. Overall. it was a pretty boring show, there were highlights, but never anything that shocked us.

Caffeine with Christine (8/30)

Good morning Good afternoon! Yesterday I promised I'd show you one of my all time favorite coffee cups, and let you know about some of the upcoming travel plans that Justin and I are putting together. Well, the clue is in the cup.

If you've ever heard of Voodoo Doughnut then you'll know where we are going: Portland, Oregon as well as Vancouver, Washington! We have a bunch of friends and family that live in that area and we are planning a trip to visit in October. I have been once before, and this will be Justin's first time. It will be so nice to escape from California for a five days and get a change of scenery.

The Voodoo coffee cup is one of my favorites because it is pink, and it literally has a hole right in the middle of it. On the back it says their slogan: "The magic is in the hole" (so clever)!
It has been somewhat of a busy weekend.

Friday Justin and I went to dinner and then we rented a movie (Hot Persuit) which I wouldn't really recommend, it was alright. Saturday was a super lazy day, we pretty much lounged around all day. Justin had his fantasy football draft at night, and then after that we attended a birthday shindig for one of our friends.

Considering I only got about three to four hours of sleep last night from the party, I've needed a lot of extra caffeine to keep me going. I've really been enjoying an ice chai tea latte from Starbucks, so that was my drink of choice today. This morning it was sixty degrees with a breeze, so I took full advantage and went to Woodward Park with Reddick. Not sure if you have formally met our dog yet, so I'll have to feature him in a post soon. Just now realizing, I totally could have utilized National Dog Day for that, but oh well.

It is currently 2:30 in the afternoon and I still need to do laundry, go get my car washed, plan out my lunches for this week, and figure out dinner plans tonight. The VMA's are on later, and you better believe we will be watching to see all the craziness Miley will bring to the stage. It's also the season finale for Naked and Afraid XL so I'll be excited to see the extraction on tonight episode. Let me know what your favorite choice of caffeine is? I'd love to know!

A Lack Of Inspiration

For the first time in a long time I've had such a lack of inspiration. Usually I have so many new things I want to share with you all and I can't wait to always be coming up with new ideas.

This week was all too overwhelming possibly with my job, and maybe the thought of the upcoming transition into Fall and Winter is just coming so fast. I can't help but think that September is arriving and (although I am more excited than I should be about all of the pumpkin spice lattes I'll get to consume) I wish we could just skip that month and fast forward to October.

September has been an extremely emotional month since 2005. It's a month filled with pain and sadness in my heart. Remembering how my grandmother was suffering from colon cancer, which also spread through her entire body causing her to pass away on the 29th of that month. It was the hardest experience I've ever endeavored.

On the anniversary of her death, and every holiday, I visit her grave and design beautiful bouquets of flowers to surround her spirit. Sometimes I'll even sprinkle rose petals in the shape of a heart, because she loved them just as much as I do. You're probably wondering why I'm talking about her in such a deep way and why she means so much to me if she was just a grandmother. Well, to me she was my best friend, and the only mother figure I had in my life. She pretty much raised me since my father was always traveling for work and my mother was in no position to take care of a child much less herself... we won't go there though.

She called me her little angel and was the most kind-hearted, happy woman you would have ever encountered. She would always put others before herself and made friends wherever she went. Literally. It could have been the car wash, the grocery store, or even at a restaurant. She passed away when I was in 8th grade, but she taught so so much about life in that short amount of time. Since my parents had me as such an old age, both of their parents had passed away except for my granny (my dad's mother), so she was the only person I had really, considering I was an only child.

The memories always seem to come back to me stronger and more vividly toward the month of September, and some days it really hits me hard. It's nice to be able to talk about it rather than let it build up and not give Metallic Pearl any attention. I wouldn't want to leave you hanging. I already feel better after writing this post. Next week is going to be just as crazy but I will get out of my funk and be back to normal posting on Monday. Look forward to a second edition of Caffeine with Christine tomorrow and we can do a weekly round up featuring my favorite coffee cup and some exciting upcoming travel plans. Have a wonderful night. xoxo -Christine

New In-Shower Moisturizing Lotions

More recently, In-Shower lotions have started becoming more popular and are popping up in more places. Jergins recently launched a wet skin moisturizing collection with three producs featuring: Green Tea OilMonoi Oil, and Coconut Oil which can be found at Target for only $6.99. It "glides onto wet skin and instantly absorbs for twice the moisturization in half the time. There's no need to wait for skin to dry before applying or to rinse away sticky residue. The revolutionary formula goes-and-stays-on your skin and not don the drain. With this one-of-a-kind lotion, just apply to wet skin before you dry for a superior way to moisturize."

Nivea also has a three product line of In-Shower body lotions featuring: Shea Butter (Smoothing), Sea Minerals (Hydrating), and Almond Oil (Nourishing) which can also be found at Target for only $5.69.  It "helps revolutionize the daily skincare routine with a different take on moisturizing. The three In-Shower body lotions will moisturize your skin right in the shower, leaving you with soft and smooth skin, without the sticky feel of lotion."

Both of these similar products have an easy 4 step system.
1. Use your normal shower product and rinse off.
2. While still in the shower apply the In-Shower body lotion on wet skin.
3. Rinse body.
4. Dry off and head out the door.

I ended up buying the Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion with Almond Oil and I've used it a few times. After I washed my body with my regular body wash and shaved my legs, I applied this all over my legs. It is a white cream base, that has a thick shaving cream texture with not a strong scent. I didn't know how long to leave it on for, so I just washed my face and rinsed my hair so it could sit on the top of my skin. After leaving it on for about 3-4 minutes I thoroughly rinsed everything away and got out of the shower to towel dry. Yes, my legs were smooth, but mostly because I had just shaved. Now they were not dry like they would normally be when I get out of the shower but they definitely weren't as moisturized as the bottle makes it seem. I still applied lotion to my legs because I like them to be shiny and glow, so I add the Suave gradual tanning lotion from medium to tan all over my arms and legs.

Answer: NAY!
I would not re-purchase this product, only because it didn't do much for me. It's a great concept, but I feel like if there would have been more of an oil base it would have been a lot more moisturizing. But if you are wanting to try a product something like these two, Olay makes a Ultra Moisturize In-Shower lotion, and St. Tropez just came out with an In-Shower gradual tanning lotion. The St. Tropez lotion is a great alternative to tanning if you have very fair skin because it is such a gradual process that it looks natural and not overbearing. It is a little more costly, running at $25 instead of $5-$6 but it's worth checking out at Ulta if you're interested in something like that before Summer ends.

Ipsy Bag - August

I have been getting an Ipsy Glam Bag since October 2014 and I have to say that this is one of the best beauty subscriptions for the money. There is a perfect balance between skincare, haircare, and makeup products and the bag almost always contains full size products or deluxe samples. For only $10.82 (including tax & shipping) a month you get five beauty products in a cute patterned-print makeup bag which is perfect to travel with. I was very happy with this months bag, however I experienced a bit of sadness when I left it in the car one afternoon. I was only in a shopping store for 30 minutes, but that was 30 minutes long enough for my Lord & Berry lip liner to melt, hence why it's not pictured. Since the lip liner was a sharpened pencil, there was no way for me to save it, so I had to toss it in the garbage. I have not tried the Morocco oil or the eye primer yet, but I do know that I really like the lip gloss and eye liner. You can totally call me a lippy girl, I get really excited for any new lip product that I get to try. It seems like whatever the season may be my lips are always dry, so I can never have too many lip products in my collection. I've used the navy eye liner as a base color and the pigmentation is beautiful along with the creamy texture.

If Everyone Was Twining

What if all women had the exact same clothing options in their closets? What if all schools had uniforms? What if all women had to wear suits to work like men? Why do twins get to wear the same clothing and it not be weird?

As I was waiting for my coffee at a local Starbucks, two women in their twenties appeared in front of me wearing the exact same outfit, minus the shoes. They were not twins, in fact, they weren't even related. A black and white striped shirt with lace overlay paired with rolled up jeans was what they were rocking. One was wearing sandals, and the other Nike's. What it some sort of coincidence or an intentional match? I'm not sure.

This got me thinking at how the importance of fashion has really changed our lives. Usually in an office setting, you are given complete freedom to wear whatever you choose. For women, this could take hours trying to decide what to wear, because unlike men who wear a common suit, us ladies have to think about a lot of other factors. Is this skirt too short? Do I look too under-dressed? Is this office appropriate? Sure life is stressful enough as it is, so let's just add to the mix of extensive pressure on women to uphold a flawless appearance.

On certain circumstances, men are taken seriously in the office no matter what they wear. A lot of people think that schools who have uniforms are more successful when it comes to learning an education. Possibly. There would be less time that students would be sent home from school due to dress code violations and more time focusing in the classroom. However; fashion is a way of expression to show who we are on the outside and how we feel. During school, students are learning who they are and how to express themselves..

No matter what people wear, the same outfit, or different outfits, they are going to be scrutinized for the way they styled it and accessorized it or how their body looks in it. It would be cool for one day to see what life would be like if everyone wore the same thing. Personally, I think it would be boring, and awful, and it would make me appreciate all the hard work and effort that designers take to create beautiful pieces.

Summer Nails

Since August is withering away quite quickly and Fall is right around the corner, I figured I might as well go all out with the bright colors for the end of Summer.

I've been painting my nails for probably over ten year and I don't think I've ever had yellow on them. The bright color has always been associated with Easter for some reason so I always gravitated away from it.

Originally while I was at the Salon looking at the hundreds of color swatches, I was just going to paint them pink. I'm glad I had a change of heart and chose the happy-sunshine yellow color with pink on just my ring finger.

I always like to add a glitter top coat to whatever color I choose, so for the yellow color, I had my nail artist add a silver glitter to the top and had it fading down. On my ring finger overlaying the barbie pink, I chose a neon splattered glitter for the entire nail.

Tuyet at E Nails has been doing my fingers and toes for years now and she is just fantastic.

What nail colors have you been enjoying this Summer?!

Jewelry Crush : David Yurman

American jewelry designer David Yurman is releasing a limited edition collection of pinky rings that are scented. Yes, that's right, we're talking bubble gum scented gold plated designer rings! This is about as innovative as you can get when it comes to wearing "jeweled candy" on your fingers.
Evan Yurman (son of David and creative director) says, "Aside from the emotional feeling that a favorite piece of jewelry evokes, the rest of your senses are limited to sight and touch." The rings are an 18k gold base infused with aromatic oils that give them the scents of actual sweets: bubble gum, grape, peppermint, black licorice, and cotton candy.

David's parents used to take him to the old-fashioned Penny Candy Shop in Water Mill, New York which is where the inspiration from this collection came from.

The rings will be for sale on September 1st at $875 but you can pre-order them now at davidyurman, com which stands as a "first come, first served" basis.
These rings look gorgeous, plus I'm sure they smell great too!

Caffeine with Christine (8/23)

I'm excited to introduce a new series to you (Caffeine with Christine) that I'll be doing every Sunday. It will be a way for me to just talk to you about my weekend, and talk about what is coming up in the next week.

This weekend was spent doing some deep cleaning and relaxing. Last weekend we went camping so I'm still trying to re-coop and get all the laundry done from that trip.

Friday night we ate at one of my favorite mexican restaurants (Casa Corona) for dinner. Following dinner, Justin and I went to Pet Extreme to pick up a new collar for our dog Reddick since it got completely destroyed up at Courtright.

Saturday, I actually got to sleep in (first time in months) and enjoy my morning. I cooked breakfast (a delicious omelette) and ran some errands, then spent the afternoon cleaning the house, which desperately needed to be done.

This morning I decided that it was okay to splurge, and picked up some donuts to enjoy with our coffee. I met my friend/old co-worker Allison for our nail appointment at noon and got to catch up with her over lunch. Tonight I'm making my signature homemade macaroni and cheese for dinner to go with the trout that Justin caught last weekend, so be sure to look out for an upcoming post on that very soon.

It's going to be a very busy week again. I found out that I will be driving out of town to Hanford and Tulare once a week now to cover some store calls until they get a new position filled. Not sure I've ever mentioned before, but I work as a marketing representative for Kraft Foods and Proctor & Gamble, so that causes me to drive to different stores to check product status and meet with managers. Olay is coming out with a new collection in their product line, and once that is released, I'll go ahead and give you details on that.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I take Sunday Funday very seriously and believe that a Sunday well spent, brings a week of content. Cheers to having a great week!

Subscription Saturday - August Happy Mail

I look forward to opening my Happy Mail every month, and cannot wait to see what is inside. Sometimes I'll peek and watch the unboxing video before it reaches my doorstep, but I try not to.

If you don't already know,
Happy Mail is a monthly subscription service filled with fun cards and stationary. Each month you'll receive $50 worth of paper goodies for only $15. Every package comes with something traditional, quirky, something a little bit funny, and a few items you can keep for yourself or gift to a friend.

Not only will you just find greeting cards in Happy Mail, there will sometimes be art prints, stickers, pens/pencils, and even notepads. I usually end up buying a cheap grocery store card last minute in hopes that nobody else will gift the same one. But with getting Happy Mail every month, now I have a stock pile of really cute stationary for every occasion that is handmade where I know it is something one-of-a-kind!

Sisters and working partners Elsie and Emma write A Beautiful Mess (a lifestyle blog) and started the Happy Mail Subscription service in November 2014. This is my third order that has come so far, and I am totally in love with it.

This months kit contents:
8 cards, 8 standard envelopes, 1 art print, 1 notepad, and phrase stickers.

Elsie and Emma say: "We are over the moon for the August Happy Mail Kit! Whether you are congratulating a new marriage, wishing someone a Happy Birthday, thanking a friend, or just sending some love, by sending Happy Mail, you are bringing thoughtfulness back in style. Along with pretty cards and envelopes, this months kit also offers a motivational art print, fun phrase stickers, and a notepad for those list-makers."

DISCLAIMER: I am in no way affiliated with this company. I purchase Happy Mail with my own money, and all opinions are my own based on true experiences.

Red Carpet Fashion : Holland Roden

Leading lady to watch out for on the red carpet is 28 year old Holland Roden, star of MTV's Teen Wolf.

Since the show premiered in 2011 she has been on the red carpet quite a lot for events, however we never really payed much attention to her until recently.

She appeared on the carpet Wednesday, August 19th (last night) for the premiere of "She's Funny That Way" looking like a real fashionista.

She coordinated the wine colored-hue to match her lips which totally went with her crimson-colored hair.

The dress is designed by Self-Portrait (an affordable London-based label) which has been worn by recent celebs such as Rachael McAdams, and Katy Perry.

Her "no makeup" makeup look pulled the look together with an all-natural eye color and a bold lip with her shutting the carpet down.

I watch her play "Lydia" on the show, and her acting definitely matches her maturity that she portrays.

Lets just say, she is killing it!

2 Ingredient Ice Cream

Thanks to Pinterest yet again I just now found a recipe that might be genius. As you may or may not know, I am a total ice cream fanatic. I could seriously eat the stuff three times a day, and I totally would if I could stay the same size and not gain a million pounds.

Well, we all know that ice cream isn't the best thing for you, but there are so many different "recipes/ways" you can make it, including a more healthy version. I found out that this recipe is not new, and it's actually been out for a while, but since i just now found it I thought I might as well spread it along.

Like the title states, you only need two ingredients. Literally!

Step 1: Peel three bananas and cut them up in small slices.

Step 2: Freeze the banana slices for at least 4 hours until they are hard.

Step 3: Place the frozen bananas in a blender or food processor and lend until soft.

Step 4: Add 2-3 tablespoons of Nutella depending on how chocolatey you want it.

Step 5: Blend for 5 seconds and stir with a spoon to mix it all together.

Optional: Add nuts, sprinkles, oreos, caramel, or whatever other toppings you want.

The E Words

It's my cookie and I'll eat it if I want to. You don't need a masters degree in nutrition to know that food has calories and exercise burns them.

The two "E" words: eating and exercise have been a difficult balance for me these past few weeks. I'll set my alarm for 4:30AM to get to my daily bootcamp session before work, but I'll press snooze too many times to count. I'll get an afternoon Starbucks and think "do I really need to be drinking my calories today?".

I've learned that you need to separate these two words to stay on track with a healthy lifestyle. I workout to be stronger and more fit, and I try to eat healthy (or with moderation) but that doesn't ,mean that I have to deprive myself of foods that I love. I could NEVER just eat salads and fruits everyday, first of all I love food way too much, and second of all, there is no way I could live without my meats and sugar intake.

The point I'm trying to make is that you should not feel guilty every time you eat some ice cream or don't have time to work out. As long as you try to make healthy choices and stay happy, and stress-free then you are doing a good job at life. Enjoy it while you can and make the most of it.

The September Issue

Gigi Hadid - US W September 2015
Miley Cyrus - US Marie Claire September 2015

Beyonce - US VOGUE September 2015
Demi Lovato - US Cosmopolitan September 2015
Keira Knightley - US Elle September 2015

People often ask why the September Issue in a fashion magazine is such a big deal. Well, September Issues are like the commencement of a new fashion season.

Fall/Winter shows and shoots were done months before September of course, but September is when the new trends are first being seen by the public.

When Summer ends, it's time to get your winter wardrobe ready and September is usually the time when the weather starts to change.

The fashion publications are already full force ahead and have got you covered when it comes to guiding you in the right direction for your cold-weather outfit preparation.

For many fashion-obsessed readers, browsing through fashion websites and forums is similar to doing a series of daily rituals.

In What Order Do You Apply Your Makeup?

I've never actually thought about the order in which I applied my makeup until I was thinking about doing a makeup routine.

I guess depending on the day or event I'm going to would depend on how much makeup I'd be putting on my face.

Well, after paying attention and taking notes the past week, it has come to my attention that I do put my makeup on in about the same order every day.
1. Moisturizer: No matter what I always put a moisturizer on my face as a base even before I use a primer (which isn't all the time). I try to use one with some sort of SPF especially during the Summer or I'll use a tinted moisturizer if I want some extra coverage.

2. Primer: SOMETIMES, if I'm getting ready for a special occasion, I'll prime my face using Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, or Tarte's Amazonian Primer.

3. Foundation: My go-to foundation for all year round is Neutrogena's Skin Clearing Liquid Foundation because it has salicylic acid to help clear breakouts and it has full coverage which is great for being oil-free.

4. Eye Brows: I use ELF's eyebrow duo to to lightly fill in my brows to give them more definition.

5. Eye Shadow: Usually I use one of my Urban Decay NAKED palettes to go with a bronzing color, sometimes I'll prime my eyes with a NYX eye pencil, but usually for every day wear, I don't need to.

6. Eye Liner: I use black eye liner on my lower lid and then on my upper waterline. Sometimes I'll use a liquid waterproof eye liner on my top lid and wing it out, but that's usually just for a special occasion.

7. Mascara: I usually don't use an eye lash curler, I will just directly put my mascara on. My favorite for the past couple months has been L'Oreal's Luminous Butterfly Intensifier which makes my lashes long without having them clump up.

8. Bronzer: Lastly, I will apply a bronzer or blush to my upper cheek bones to finish my look.
A lot of people tend to do their foundation last because they are worried about having fallout from the eye shadow but I don't put that much eye shadow on, and if I do, I can correct it with under eye powder.Have you ever thought about the way you put on your makeup in the morning?

Camping at Courtright Reservoir

This weekend I went camping with Justin and his family up at Courtright Reservoir which is located in Fresno County, California in the Sierra National Forrest. The high sierra reservoir is formed by Courtright Dam in Helms Creek canyon.

It's primarily a fishing lake, also known as an "off river" storage reservoir that's at 8,170 feet elevation. It was build in 1958 by PG&E with it's primary purpose for hydroelectricity production.

Courtright is known for having granite domes surrounding the area making it feel like Yosemite without having the crowds and tourists. There is an abundance of fish (mostly trout) up at Courtright which makes it fun to go out on the boat or fish from shore.

We stayed at Trapper Springs campground in tents about a mile from the lake. I have not been "real" camping since I was a child so it was a lot of fun to get away from the city and truly experience nature without technology and electricity. We hung out at the lake during the days and fished then chilled out by the campfire every night and played charades.

This reservoir is a well hidden secret. The unusual dome-shaped rock formations create a surreal atmosphere with soul-stirring beauty. The high was 70 degrees and it got as cold at 40 degrees during the night, but it felt soo good. Considering it was 105 degrees in Fresno this weekend, I am glad we got to get out of town!

Cheers To The Weekend

I could not be more happy now that the weekend is finally approaching. I feel like this week dragged on and I didn't think it was ever going to end.

Justin and I are leaving to go camping for the weekend which I am so excited for. It will be really nice to escape the heat and relax with nature's beauty.

We're taking the boat and going fishing so lets hope we get some trout for a good fish fry. I hope you all have a lovely weekend. I will be back in the tech world on Sunday.

Meet Duke the Bloodhound

My father has been wanting a bloodhound since he was a kid and finally, at the wise age of 63 he decided to get his dream dog. My dad used to be a professional Bass fisherman in his twenties and hunting has been a hobby since he used to go with my grandpa at the age of 16. Throughout his adult life he has owned a black and tan coonhound and a miniature pinscher. He has been without a dog for the last couple of years and really missed having a "mans best friend".

Without knowing much about the breed he found an advertisement for Bloodhound puppies in the town of Los Banos, California and immediately jumped at the chance to take a look considering they are somewhat of a rare breed to find. He knew that Bloodhounds are hunting dogs, and that they are a large breed animal who is generally full of love and kindness. What he didn't know were the health factors and how high maintenance the breed really is. They have wrinkles all over, droopy eyes, and such large ears that need to be cleaned at least once a week to prevent infection.

He asked me to drive with him to look at the litter of puppies (which was an hour away) and I said of course. I mean, who doesn't want to play with a litter of adorable Bloodhound puppies?! We had first pick of the litter and my dad knew he wanted a male. There were five males to choose from and after playing with them and spending time with them I knew he had found his match, He ended up falling in love with a particular boy with a small white shaped "W" on his chest. This was the first time I saw my dad this happy in a really long time. You could tell in his eyes and by the largest smile on his face that he has so much love for this animal. It's his "baby boy" and he named him Duke. He totally fits his name by the way.

Since I have a background with animals (I worked at a boarding/grooming facility for five years) I've been helping my dad with Duke by going with him to training classes, helping bathe him and clean his ears, and giving him the tender loving care and attention he deserves. I have totally fallen in love with him and you'll see why. Even though he is the most stubborn puppy I have ever seen, his face will just make you melt.

Watch Duke grow from 4 weeks to 16 weeks.

Christian Louboutin Launches Lipstick Collection

I just about jumped out of my seat last week with excitement when I heard that world-famous luxury shoe designer Christian Louboutin debuted a lipstick collection. His nail polish collection which he launched last year was spectacular, and there is no doubt that these lip products will be any less of a success. The only set back that you might have is the price. What would it take for you to buy a lipstick that is $90?

Although the packaging is unlike anything we've ever seen before, and it may look fabulous on your lips matched with the perfect pair of heels, that is still quite a hefty price tag. There are 36 shades in this collection, with 3 textures--silky satin, velvet matte, and sheer voile. All of these lipsticks are named after and inspired by Louboutin bags and shoes, which makes them a total work of art.

This collection won't be available for purchase until September at Saks Fifth Avenue, which gives you some time to decide if you actually want to drop $90 on these bad boys girls.

Inspiring Office Spaces

I find myself looking at Pinterest too often than I'd like to admit. It gives me so much inspiration to do things that I never imagined existed. Lately, I've noticed that my "pins" have been focused on pretty work spaces and inspiring desk top organization strategies.

A woman's desk is a place of imagination and a wondering mind filled with immeasurable thoughts. I know that whenever I am in a happy environment that inspires me, I am more focused on the work that I'm doing and feel empowered to do more. I could sit at my desk all day and it would feel like just a few minutes have passed by.

Personally, I enjoy looking at art (sketches, inspiration boards, collages) while I'm at my desk because it makes me happy and makes me feel like I'm in my own creative bubble. Surrounding yourself with colors you like will also bring positives vibes to your soul. Pink and Gold is one of my favorite color combinations and it pairs well with black or white so there is a lot of accessories you can use to dress up your desk. My Pinterest account is my go-to site for all things DIY and my creative outlet to branch out of my comfort zone to try new things.
