National Coffee Day

Today is a day for all coffee-lovers to go caffeine crazy! I probably consume an unhealthy amount of coffee everyday, but today I will consume even more and have no shame.

Here are some funny coffee quotes that might brighten your morning:

"A day without coffee is like something without something."

"Coffee -- A magical substance that turns, "Leave me alone or die" into "Good morning, honey!"

"Sometimes I like coffee more than people."

"But first, coffee."

"Coffee is a drug, a warm and delicious drug."

"There is no life without water. Because water is needed to make coffee."

"Just give me coffee, and I'll be happy."

Caffeine with Christine (9/27)

There is nothing better than some cute latte art in the morning. Mimi's Cafe is a french-inspired restaurant that I love going to for breakfast. They have some of the best crepes, eggs benedict, and the prettiest lattes like the bears pictured left.

I have really enjoyed this weekend because it has seemed like it's actually going by slow, since I had Friday off. It's nice to be able to just relax and have a nice productive three day weekend. Since getting my new iPhone 6s I have kinda just been playing with it, and then playing a game called Runescape on my computer, since this weekend is double xp.

It's almost October which means that in roughly 16 days Justin and I will be on a plane to Washington to escape California. It's officially Fall and it has still been 90 degrees every day. Not fun! Hope you enjoy your Sunday. I'm off for my weekly trail walk with Reddick, and to meet my Dad and Duke at Woodward Park!

Apple iPhone 6s First Impressions

I have had my iPhone 6s for roughly 28 hours and I am so so happy with it. Since I went from an iPhone 5 to the 6s it has been a BIG CHANGE for me.

I pre-ordered the rosegold 16gb on September 12th and made a reservation to pick it up at my local apple store on the day it came out (yesterday 9/25). Since I had my last iPhone for over two years, and my contract was up with AT&T, I could get a new phone. Well, now that AT&T makes you do the "NEXT" plan, they charge you an activation fee, tax on the phone, and the first monthly payment which would have been roughly $30 and a lot more than what I paid at Apple.

This year when Apple introduced the iPhone 6s and 6sPlus, they also announced their new Apple Upgrade Program which is an amazing plan. Basically, you pay tax on the phone, and the first monthly payment of $32.41 which only came out to less than $87. They activated my phone at the Apple Store, and you don't need to sign a two year contract. So every year a new phone comes out you can get a new one and pay about the same monthly payment. The new plan also includes AppleCare which I didn't even have before. The only inconvenience is that you can't do the Apple Upgrade program online, you must come into a retail store. Even though I had a reservation, I still had to wait in a line that took about 45 minutes just to get into the Apple Store, but I guess that's what you get when you want a phone on the day it comes out.

So about the phone, I am totally new to the bigger screen, and touch ID and 3D touch. The live photos, and better camera is what really got me excited about the phone. I literally used my phone camera for everything, so it is really nice that Apple upgraded their camera.

Overall, I am loving my phone. Besides all the awesome new features, my favorite part might be the rosegold color that they introduced. Yes, that's a silly reason but it's just so damn beautiful. Did you get the new iPhone? If you did, let me know how you're liking it.

Extra Long Weekend

I have a 3-Day Weekend!

I took today off to be fully productive. (guilty)

Today's Agenda:

-Get my car fully cleaned and detailed at Red Carpet Car Wash.

-Take Reddick to Woodward Park and walk the trails.

-Pick up my iPhone 6s at the Apple Store in Fashion Fair Mall.

-Deep clean the bedroom and do laundry.

-Rent a Redbox and RELAX... maybe even take an afternoon nap!

-I also need to re-organize my makeup drawyer and get all my greeting cards separated by category, maybe I'll do some DIY organization tips in a future post.

In the mean time, have a great day and SMILE because it's Friday, and you're one step closer to a great weekend. But you should always smile, because there is always good things to be happy about every day! Just looking at this scoop of rainbow sprinkles is making me smile. xoxo

Starbucks Toasted Graham Latte

Step aside Pumpkin Spice, Starbucks has just unveiled a new and delicious creation. "It's milk and cookies all grown up!" On Wednesday (9/23) which also happened to be the first day of Fall, Starbucks released a new latte for the season, the first one in four years: The Toasted Graham Latte. Also, with their fist ever Fall decorated hot cup!

"I thought about the back-to-school season and looked at the latest food and beverage trends", the company's R&D Manager Yoke Wong said in a statement. "What I found to be quite popular in the U.S. is the taste of cereal milk, the delicious leftovers in your breakfast bowl."

And so, the Toasted Graham Latte was born. The official statement on the Starbucks website describes it as: "an espresso beverage with steamed milk, flavors of graham and sweet cream and finished with a sprinkling of cinnamon graham crumbles."

I decided to order the drink the first chance I could (because my mistake last Christmas I waited until the season was almost over before trying the Chestnut Praline Latte and fell in love with it but then could only order it for two weeks before it was gone) and tasted it immediately so I would know.

I ordered the drink hot, all of my lattes I get are hot except for maybe a vanilla latte every once in a blue moon. When I took the first sip, I could taste the whipped cream and cinnamon topping then I got a taste of toasty espresso. Like I mentioned before how much I love the Chestnut Praline Latte, this comes to a close tie. They are somewhat similar in flavor but the toasted graham is a lot less sweet than some of the seasonal drinks like Pumpkin Spice, and Caramel Brulee. I will say that I enjoy a pumpkin spice latte every now and then, but sometimes they are just too sweet to drink an entire cup.

I give this drink an official "A+" because Starbucks did really well. My problem is that I get so attached to all the seasonal drinks and then they go away for months and months. If only Starbucks could keep their lattes all year round.

If you're a coffee obsessed freak like me, or if you're a normal person who enjoys a cup of caffeine in the morning, then I recommended trying the toasted graham latte. It's like espresso with a sweet and toasty flavor that's just the right amount to kick start your day, all while feeling warm and cozy on the inside.

Top 12 Best Perfumes for Fall

Celebrating the first day of Fall yesterday, I thought this would be a perfectly appropriate post since I'm sure you'd love to smell good this season. Recently a lot of new perfumes have hit the market and they're smelling oh so lovely.

To top it off, the packaging is pretty lovely as well. I'm a huge perfume obsessed girl when it comes to the colder months. I enjoy wearing lighter coconut sprays in the Summer, but as soon as it hits Fall I love to bring out my expensive splurge-purchased scents and experiment. Here are the top 12 perfumes that are relatively new and should become really popular in the next couple months. I never buy a perfume unless I've tried it on my skin a few different times, so here's what I do:

TIP- Sephora almost always has the perfume you're looking for, unless it's an exclusive designer or limited edition scent. I always like to go into the store and ask for a few samples of the ones I'm debating on purchasing. I will wear each one over a number of days to see how it blends with my skin throughout the day. Perfume may smell the same in the bottle, but once it goes on your skin, it will smell differently than anyone else. Happy Sampling!

Happy Mail - September

I discovered A Beautiful Mess a few months ago and subscribed to Happy Mail as soon as I saw it. I have absolutely loved cards (and all things stationery related) so this was the perfect subscription service for me. So far I have loved EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING that I have gotten in my box each time. Here's a little sneak peak at what came in this months box!

What the company says: "September's Happy Mail kit is the best yet - and you can quote us on that! Jump into Fall with pumpkin spice lattes, coffee cozies, and of course....emojis! This September, tell someone you are falling for them, let your best friend know how much you love them, and wish someone a Venti sized Happy Birthday. Along with pretty cards and matching envelopes, this months kit also offers washi stickers, colorful sticky notes, and coffee cozies for your favorite hot beverage."

If you are unsure as to how the service works, subscribers get $50 (retail value) of stationery delivered to their doorstep for as low as $15 a month. Each card is hand designed by A Beautiful Mess and is sure to be creative, fun, and unique. My favorite part about this subscription service is that it offers a bunch of different themed cards: thank yous, birthday, congrats, wedding, love, best friend cards, and even simple postcards.

$18 with a 6 month commitment

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

It's not even October yet, but PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHING has hit hard, pretty much everywhere you go. Some might say that we're living in the golden age of pumpkin spice heaven, and other's fear that we're in the danger of pumpkin spice over-saturation in the marketplace.

Me? I'm leaning right in the middle. There are some pretty amazing inventions and then there are also some really ridiculous products as well. The ones not even mentioned down below include: hummus, four loko, greek yogurt, pringles, butter, chewing gum, vodka, moonshine, dog treats, pasta sauce, jerky, and milk. Yes, all of those in pumpkin spice flavor, I'm not sure about all that.
Pumpkin Spice

I will admit that I am an avid pumpkin spice latte drinker when it comes around. I'd drink one every day if I could. I also really enjoy the sweet cinnamon pumpkin candle, but that's about as pumpkin-loaded as I get. Bring on October!

Naturebox Review

I've known about Naturebox for a while now, mostly from YouTubers and was always curious to try it out. Especially since a lot of people rave about it online, it looks and sounds like a good service.

The company says, "Naturebox delivers a world of carefully sourced and nutritionist-approved foods right to your door. Each snack contains wholesome ingredients with no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or colors. Snacking has never been so deliciously fun and naturally easy."

Basically, Naturebox is a subscription service where you can either choose snacks you want or have them surprise you and deliver them straight to your door. There are a few different options when it comes to different services: 3 snacks at $13.95 or 5 snacks at $19.95 either once a week, twice a week, or once a month. There is a wide variety of snacks to choose from with over 100 from flax-infused crackers, dried fruit, nut clusters, popcorn, and some vegan and gluten-conscious treats as well.

The following five snacks came in my box:

1. Mini Belgain Waffles
2. Big Island Pineapple
3. Chocolate Banana Chips
4. Parmesan Garlic Pop Pops
5. Salted Caramel Pretzel Pops

My experience with Naturebox was rather disappointing, at least with the five products that I received.

I thought the Belgian Waffle bites would taste similar to a waffle cone that you'd get with an ice cream, but I had very little flavor and resembled cardboard.

The dried pineapple was the only snack that I actually liked and would re-purchase. The pineapple wasn't crunchy but dried out just enough to keep the sweet flavor.

When I saw the banana chocolate chips in the box I got really excited because I love the taste of chocolate and banana together. However, these crunchy chips lacked a lot of flavor and tasted kind of sour instead of sweet. I honestly can't even explain the flavor but it was not what I was expecting.

The parmesan garlic pop pops tasted exactly like corn nuts, with a little extra garlic flavor.

Then lastly, the salted caramel pretzel pops were not bad, but they could have been better. Naturebox should have just took the caramel part out of this snack because I literally couldn't taste it at all.

I think that Naturebox is a good service, and maybe I just got a small batch of products I didn't care for, but like I said before, there are over 100 to choose from and I'm sure there are others that I haven't tried yet that I'll enjoy more. If you enjoy "healthier" snacks rather than chips and cookies then you should check out Naturebox because their variety is rather large.

Caffeine with Christine (9/20)

Good morning everyone, I feel like the weeks are just going by so slow and the weekend completely disappears. If only there were always 3-day weekends, life would just be the greatest. We all know how much I love coffee and tea, so finding really cute coffee houses (not Starbucks) but finding independent corner cafes totally makes me happy. There is a small coffee house in the heart of downtown Clovis called Kuppa Joy which is not only super cute, but has REALLY great tasting coffee. My favorite drink is their signature kuppa joy which is almost like a mocha with some extra spices. I can't really explain it, you'd just have to try it if you ever stop by. Their menu is simplistic yet modern and the indoor decor gives off a rustic vibe. There is also a nice covered patio in the back of the building which makes for a really great hangout spot with your friends/bf/gf/family.
This week was intense considering I was training a new associate and had to drive to Tulare, Porterville, and Visalia two days in a row. Those cities are only an hour or two away so it wasn't too bad, but when you run into traffic jams and freeway closures, that calls for a long day. Since Monday and Tuesday were 11 hour days for me, and I was out of town, I had to fit my week long work schedule into 3 days which was pure craziness. I was able to get everything done but by Friday I was absolutely exhausted.

Fashion week came to a close and I enjoyed seeing what all the designers had to present. The second week was even bigger than the first and damn were there some amazing looking garments to show for it.

I must admit that I have literally done nothing this weekend and I am totally okay with that. Friday I visited a friend at her workplace to say hi and catch up, and then watched about 4 back-to-back shows on DVR until I fell asleep on the couch and found myself there at 4am to wobble to bed. I was scheduled to get an oil change at 8am but I slept through that appointment and figured, "ehh it can wait, I need my sleep". I slept in Saturday for the first time in a long time, like I got to really sleep in until about 10am which NEVER happens.

Today Justin and I are going to "try" and go see The Visit... by trying I mean, If we feel like going to the theater then we will, but it depends because it's Sunday and we like to do nothing. However, I'll be meeting my dad at Wooward Park again for a morning stroll with his new Bloodhound Duke so there's my workout for the day. We usually walk a good 3 mile dirt trail around the park, it's nice to get to spend time with my dad when our buys schedules allow us too!

Well, what you should take away from this long blabber-mouth type post is that Kuppa Joy is fantastic and you should check it out if you're ever in Clovis, and that next week will hopefully go a lot faster that this week did. Look forward to a Naturebox review, and some other exciting new product reviews this week. Have a lovely and relaxing Sunday!

Ipsy Bag - September

In today's "Subscription Saturday" post I'm going to show you what came in my Ipsy Glambag for the month of September. If you have never heard of Ipsy then it is a monthly beauty subscription service that delivers a cute makeup bag filled with 5 deluxe or full-size beauty products to your door for only $10.82.

Personally I like Ipsy a lot because of the versatility of the products you get. They try to include hair, eyes, skin, nails, and lip products in your bag so you get a little of everything and not just skincare products.

Another really great thing about Ipsy is that you can always re-use the bag for different things. I have so many of them at home, and I use them as pencil pouches, lip balm storage, or a few of my makeup favorites to take with me if I am traveling. Below is a picture of what came in my bag this month, and I was so happy. I can't wait to use all of these products.
Garnier Fructis Brazilian Smooth Flatiron Express
Glamglow Flashmud Brightening Treatment
Formula X Nail Color in Ignite
Tre'stique Mini Matte Lip Crayon
NYX Cosmetics Ipsy Eye Shadow Trio

New York Fashion Week (Recap Part 2)

As fashion week has come to an end the second week was nothing short of amazing. Designers continued to impress and the celebs got better as the shows got bigger. So in part 2 of my re-cap I am showing you my top 8 designers for the second week and what I thought about the collection.Don't worry, just because Fashion Week is over in New York, you still have, Paris and Milan left. Enjoy the beautiful designs.
Kanye West's Yeezy Collection Season 2
Kanye West's Yeezy Season 2 presentation at New York Fashion Week was held on Wednesday and was somewhat disappointing. Although the designer/singer did debut a new song confirmed to be titled "Fade" which features Post Malone and Ty Dolla Sign. The collection looked a lot like season 1 with models staged in groups, dressed in bodysuits, hoodies, and over-sized clothes in neutral shades. Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner walked in the show which also had a military-inspired theme and a neutral color palette. There was so much resemblance in this collection from season 1 that is threw people by surprise because Kanye's Yeezy Shoe with Reebok has been off the chart.

Rachel Zoe Spring/Summer 2016 Collection
Rachel Zoe showed her newest collection on Sunday (9/13) which almost resembled a zoo-like theme. The collection was displayed  in a presentation with 20 models positioned and standing as still as mannequins. There was a grassy trim that lined the runway which gave you an artificial animal kingdom experience. There weren't many safari prints but it was more of a "modern take on the romantic gypset" drawing inspiration from the glamour of the 70's and 80's. The collection featured flowing dresses with fringe in neutral beige tones and long skirts in bronze hues.

Diane Von Furstenberg Spring/Summer 2016 Collection
Diane Von Furstenberg shut it down on Sunday (9/13) when she showed her Spring/Summer 2016 collection at New York Fashion Week. DVF is known for her signature wrap dress which debuted in 1974. This season she took it back to the disco-decade with metallic golds, mixed prints, jumpsuits, high waisted suits, and blouses in shades of pink, black, and white. Diane says her collection is really about helping every woman bring out her inner goddess. The model/besties who walked the runway were totally part of T Swift's squad and killed it.

Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2016 Collection
Since Lincoln Center is out of the New York Fashion Week picture, it has been interesting to see where designers are presenting this year. Most shows are venues like Skylight at Moynihan Station and Skylight Clarkson Square, but this year Carolina Herrera decided to show at the historic Frick Collection Museum on the Upper East Side. For her Spring/Summer 2016 collection she experimented with modern, mesh fabric and geometric peek-a-boo cutouts. There was also a lot of pink and a lot of flowers. It wasn't too sweet but just enough of pretty and girly frocks.

Jeremy Scott Spring/Summer 2016 Collection
"Plastic is fantastic" was Jeremy Scott's inspiration for his Spring/Summer 2016 collection. There were tons of bright colors, vibrant prints, and plastic in shiny jewelry and dresses made from panels of Perspex. Models had cartoon-like hair and 60's inspired cartoon theme of The Jetsons. The collection also featured synthetic colors like Kool-Aid purple, and leather trousers with black and white polka dots for men and television screen prints for women.

Oscar de la Renta Spring/Summer 2016
Peter Copping's a british designer who took the reigns at Oscar de la Renta last year. For his second collection with the house, his main inspiration came from the paintings in The Spanish Society of America Museum in Harlem. "In particular there is a huge circular room with all these fantastic scenes, a personal commission for the museum, a series of Serollas. It's amazing." All of the pretty gowns and dresses had materials with satin, lace, organza, tulle, taffeta, and silk faille.

Michael Kors Spring/Summer 2016 (Kendall Jenner)
Michael Kors showed his Spring/Summer 2016 collection at Spring Studios on Wednesday (9/16) with a very large celebrity turn-out. There were loose flowing clothes, blouses tucked into skirts, and linen coats worn over trousers. Speaking before the show, Kors said that the collection was elegant "outdoorsy" and "earthy" inspired by two outstanding women: Georgia O'Keefe and jewelry designer Elsa Peretti whom he described as smart, successful, creative, and chic.

Marchesa Spring/Summer 2016
Karen Craig and Georgina Chapman, the duo behind Marchesa showed their Spring/Summer 2016 collection on Wednesday. They described the inspiration for the collection as a botanical menagerie of caged birds and cascading florals placed under a midnight sky. Gowns layered in tulle and floral appliques, and hand-dipped dyed ombre organza skirts with ruffles that looked right out of a fantasy You almost can't get much prettier than this.
