Cyber Monday - Goodbye November

It has been beautiful watching the leaves change colors all month long.

It has also been an eventful month containing lots of birthdays, thanksgiving, and the biggest shopping days of the year (Black Friday and Cyber Monday).

If you haven't put together any D.I.Y. Advent calendars then now is the time to do so before tomorrow!

There are some super cute ones that you can get at Target already made like the Threshold Christmas Wreath, and the Threshold Christmas Tree Box that are perfect for adding your own goodies for inside.

I have stuffed advent calendars before (like the ones you can buy at Target) and have given them to a couple of friends before December starts. The boxes can be small and medium in size, so you must be creative with what you stuff inside.

Some good ideas would be: lip balm, nail polish, money, gift cards or gift certificates, gum, candy, inspirational quotes or poems, jewelry such as rings, charms, earrings, or small necklaces. Anything that is relatively small in size will fit perfectly. You could also always just gift an already stocked chocolate, coffee, or beauty related calendar that comes with everything ready. There are a variety of them from Benefit, QVC, Starbucks, and LUSH.

I am super excited for December, not only because of Christmas, but because it's my birthday month. I am a "Christmas baby", really meaning that it's on the 23rd which is close enough. So pretty much from my Birthday to New Years is just a big party for 10 days and I kind of love it that way.

My goal is to be able to visit New York the last two weeks in December, and be able to ice skate in Rockefeller Center and see the giant Christmas Tree. Maybe I'll get to check that one off my bucket list sooner rather than later.

What to look for in December will be lots of upcoming posts focused around the Christmas-theme featuring gift guides, cooking, and much much more. YAY!

Caffeine with Christine (11/29)

Good morning, and happy Sunday!
I hope you all had a really wonderful Thanksgiving weekend if you celebrated. Mine was fantastic.

I am so thankful to have a new job where I can be off and enjoy the holidays with my family. I had a four day weekend, and although it was jam-packed it was the best one I've had in a while. I did a whole lot of eating, and a whole lot of shopping which hopefully balanced out.

While my father has been out of town this weekend, I've been taking care of his ranch up in Prather. Although, it's a bit of a drive, (an hour away) it's been nice to escape to the mountains every day for a few hours.

I've been really enjoying my daily cup of coffee with the new K-Cups I picked up at Costco. The K-Cup has a base of a filter instead of being all-plastic so it's not only better for the environment but it tastes much better too.

Eventually I'd like to get a french press so I can start brewing espresso and higher quality coffee from home. Justin's dad is turning 50 today so there was a huge party for him last night. It has been an eventful weekend to say the least. Have a nice and relaxing Sunday.

Xoxo Christine

Whats In My Makeup Bag (Unedited)

I have tons of designer makeup products I could show you, and tons of makeup collection videos I could do, but I thought we'd get down and dirty and show you whats really inside my makeup bag and what I've been putting on my face all of November.

I received this makeup bag for free when I went into the Macy's Lancome counter to purchase a bunch of random products a long time ago.

It's literally the PERFECT size and I pretty much have it with me all the time. It's hard to find that one makeup bag that works well with what you have, without being too big.
I usually use a liquid eye liner and a regular cream eyeliner on my eyes. I like to put the liquid eyeliner on my top lid so it doesn't smear onto the crease of my eyelid, and then a cream eyeliner on the bottom and smudge it out. The two that have been my favorites are: Physicians Formula 2-in-1 lash Boosting Eyeliner & Serum and L'Oreal Infallible Eye Liner in Carbon Black

I usually never, and I mean never, switch up my foundation because I have extremely sensitive acne-prone skin that I just don't want to mess with. But after seeing a new L'Oreal Infallible Advanced Never Fail Foundation on clearance at Target, I thought I should give it a go. The primer I've been using currently is the Covergirl Outlast Primer Base which also acts like a moisturizer and has been great for keeping my skin hydrated. When I changed from my Neutrogena Skin-Clearing Foundation, it really made my skin break out for a few days, but after a while I adjusted to the formula, and I've been really happy with it, as well as breakout free.

I've been using a small dark plum lipstick that came in my Ipsy subscription a while back which has been blending in great for the Fall season. I also like to keep my lips silky and soft by using the Vaseline Rosy Lips Lip Therapy. I use two brushes by the Kreme Shop on my face, as well as a Sigma Duo Fiber brush for layering bronzer and blush.

I am fortunate to not have to deal with my eyebrows by plucking or waxing them ever. I fill them in using the e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit which adds the just right amount of color without looking unnatural.

Other products I've been wearing include: NYX Ipsy Eyeshadow TrioL'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Intenza Mascara, NARS Danmari Blush Palette (limited edition), Maybelline Eye Studio Marbelized Shadow in MochaBenefit Stay Don't Stray Eye PrimerMiracle Skin Transformer Concealer, and Covergirl Pressed Powder

Depending on the season, or occasion I like to switch up my makeup routine, but for the most part, this is what my daily makeup routine has consisted of. Let me know what some of your favorite makeup products are and whats in your makeup bag.

Chanel Holiday 2015 Collection

Happy Black Friday (also known as the biggest shopping day of the year). I took a little break from the internet yesterday to spend some quality time with family and take a digital detox.

We had a nice Thanksgiving spread at my house along with mine and my boyfriends family. There was a good spread of food including: turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, rolls, and brussel sprouts with cheese, crackers, and deviled eggs for an appetizer and lots of pie for dessert.

I wanted to get Justin an Xbox One for Christmas so he could start playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 with his friends, therefor I managed to brave the crowds and go to Target when they opened at 6 PM yesterday. I was actually really surprised with how everything went down. I was able to get everything I needed, without getting trampled and got out of there with in 30 minutes.

Hope you all enjoy the weekend, and get lots of good deals and some Christmas shopping done... Don't forget about Cyber Monday either. Meanwhile, here the new Chanel Holiday collection for you to lust over.
"Chanel’s holiday collection is everything you’d expect the holidays to be: glamorous, gilded, festive, and shimmering. To create the perfect holiday face, keep your palette in the spirit of Christmas: lots of golds, reds, and bling. Chanel’s limited-edition holiday collection does the guessing work for you (they’ve created a near perfect eyeshadow palette), so invest in these fabulously festive products before they sell-out, and get ready to glam slam the holiday party circuit!"
Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow Signe Particulier ($65) – Quite literally, the perfect holiday quad with four shimmering shades that range from eggshell to gaudy gold to saffron-purple-brown.
Chanel Precision Eye Definer in Or Safran ($29) – A malleable, easy to apply gold eyeliner that can be added to the upper and lower lash lines for an added touch of gilded goodness.
Chanel Highlighting Blush in Coups de Minuit ($45) – A silky, satiny highlighter that gives a little holiday bling to the complexion. Think of it as the shining star on top of the Christmas tree: the perfect finish to a festive face.
"Finish the look with a few coats of black mascara and a classic crimson lip. Or go 2015 holiday, and swipe on the seasonal vampy, Rouge Noir Lipstick ($36), a throwback to nineties grunge."

Maybelline Limited Edition Palettes 2015

There are so many limited edition designer palettes that come out during the holidays but it's rare for you to find drug store palettes that are actually worth purchasing. This year Maybelline came out with two new limited edition all-in-one makeup palettes that include some impressive shades, as well as an eight shade lip gloss palette with a brush, for every shade you'll ever need.

Maybelline and Covergirl are my two favorite drugstore cosmetic lines because they typically have pretty good pigmentation and high quality formulas. To top it off, I'm somewhat of a "baby lips" addict considering I have almost every one, including the limited edition items.

I think these three palettes would be a perfect give for a mother, grandmother, girlfriend, or any woman in your life that enjoys makeup. Even "drugstore only" makeup junkies will like these gifts. You can get them at Target for a great price, or even just buy them to have for yourself.
Includes 4 eye shadows, 1 blush, 1 highlighter, 1 lip gloss, and 1 eye liner

Includes 4 eye shadows, 1 blush, 1 highlighter, and 2 lip glosses

Maybelline Lip Gloss Palette $9.99

Gingerbread Brandy Alexander

This drink came from Laura Lashley, head bartender at The Breslin Bar & Dining Room in New York and it is the perfect transition drink from Thanksgiving into Christmas.

In a saucepan, heat:

- 2 cups water
- 2 inch piece of ginger root (peeled & chopped)
- 5 cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon of grated nutmeg

Let simmer for 15 minutes. Cool and Strain.

Add 3/4 ounce if the mixture to 1 1/2 ounce brandy and 1 ounce heavy cream.

Shake over ice and strain into a glass rimmed with crushed graham crackers (optional).

Caffeine with Christine (11/21)

But first, coffee.
This morning I will be bearing the crowds and heading to the grocery store to get everything we need for Thanksgiving. I'm sure it's going to be a zoo, especially Costco.

It seems like retail stores are opening earlier and earlier every year. I think Target opens their "Black Friday" doors at 5 or 6 PM which kind of sucks. I feel like Thanksgiving dinner gets cut short because of the shopping craziness.

Personally I think it's fun to go out after Thanksgiving dinner and shop around the stores all night long with friends. It turns into a late night outing that somewhat feels like you're in New York because everything stays open super late. Yes, the crowds can get really annoying, but it is also worth it if you can get some pretty awesome deals. Who doesn't love to save money?

I like doing my shopping the best on Cyber Monday. I get to stay in my pajamas and shop without having to deal with anyone, in the comfort of my own home, enjoying a cup of coffee. It's the greatest, all while still being able to save money.

I hope you have a nice and relaxing Sunday, and hope you're as productive as I wish to be today... It's going to be a busy and fun week ahead.

xoxo

November Ipsy Bag

The November galaxy-themed Ipsy bag is probably one of my favorites that I've received over the past year. The colors flow beautifully together and it's fun to get a cool print on the bag instead of it being a solid or textured color.

Breathe In The Autumn Air

Friday Vibes
HAPPY FRIDAY!
Thanksgiving is in less than a week, I can't believe it. The grocery stores are going to be crazy this weekend. Well actually, I'm sure all stores will be crazy this weekend. I like to express my "Fall Outfit Inspiration" more-so during the last couple weeks of November. The weather is starting to become cold enough to pull out the sweaters and boots, and I'm able to wear a dark lip and embrace it.

I'm going to get my nails done again, probably early next week sometime and I am totally obsessing over this leaves design with a hint of gold glitter. Above are just some products that are putting me into the Thanksgiving spirit.

After Black Friday, it will be full force Christmas madness and I'm so excited to decorate. December is my favorite month. No, not because it's Christmas, but because it's also my birthday month. I just love the energy that the last month in the year brings. I hope you have a lovely weekend. I'm sure I'll be burning lots of candles, baking some goodies, and taking lots of LUSH baths. Maybe you'll so the same. Enjoy!

Top Five: Celebrities on the Red Carpet

Sometimes I just want to submerge myself into images of celebrities on the red carpet. I want to admire what they are wearing and the makeup and accessories they choose to pair with their dresses.

Awards season still isn't for a couple of months, but looking at celebrities on the red carpet totally gets me excited for the Oscars and the Globes because they are the top two awards shows of all time in the fashion industry. It's like my Superbowl of the year and I literally can't wait.
Here are a few shots of five celebrities on the red carpet in the last week wearing some gorgeous garments. Images thanks to Getty via Tom & Lorenzo.

DIY Body Butter

DIY Body Butter

Sure you can purchase a great body butter for a good price, but sometimes it's better to make a "do-it-yourself" version at home. With only three natural ingredients, you know exactly what's inside containing no harsh chemicals that might irritate your skin.

DIRECTIONS:
Combine 2 Cups of Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil, 1 Teaspoon of Vitamin E Oil, and 1 Teaspoon of Almond Oil in a bowl and mix for about 4-6 minutes until you get a thick consistency the way you like it. Add in 10-20 drops of an essence oil (lavender, peppermint, or lemon) if you'd like a more potent scent. Put all of it into a mason jar, and store at room temperature. I recommend you make a new batch every month to make sure it stays fresh.

This body butter will keep your skin extremely hydrated during the colder months. The coconut oil is a natural moisturizer that contains three fatty acids which help kill certain fungal infections. The Almond Oil contains Vitamin E and B essential minerals which help repair sun damage. Lastly, the Vitamin E Oil will boost collagen and cell rejuvenation wile giving extra moisture.

If you try this recipe out, let me know how you liked it and if you changed it in any way!

Barkbox - November Review & Free Promo Code

I was a little late on the bandwagon for this subscription service (BarkBox) because I was sure my dog would have everything destroyed in this box within minutes. Thankfully, my good friend Heather sent me a free box to try out last month (the Halloween themed box) and I was very impressed. I have a male black lab/pit mix named Reddick who loves to play and eat treats so he loved the box even more.

If you're unfamiliar with this service, BarkBox is a monthly subscription service which caters to dogs and "dog parents". Each BarkBox typically contains 4-6 items (usually 2 toys & 2 bags of treats & a bone/bully stick) based on the size of your pet. All of the products they send are healthy and tested by the company's on-staff vet to ensure your dog is getting the best products.

Subscribers can sign up for 1,3,6, or 12 months at a time and 10% of all the proceeds go to local shelters, rescues, and animal welfare organizations which makes you feel even better when ordering one. The best part about getting a BarkBox in the mail is getting to open it with your dog.

This months "harvest" Thanksgiving-themed box contained some really cute items that Reddick loved. I called him into the bedroom and told him "it's time to open your barkbox" and he got so excited. All I have to do is open up the box and he starts taking everything out himself. It is so fun to see his reaction to everything inside. Then, I'll open all the treats and let him try them, which he always enjoys!

The November BarkBox included 5 items ($52 Retail Value):
Treat Simple Holiday Hamwich Honey Baked Ham Heart-Shaped Treats $8
Nooties No Grainers Turkey Sweet Potato Jerky Chews $8

Barkmade Squeaky Leaf Toy On Rope $14
Swag Plush Squeaky Turkey $15

Happy Howie's Woof Stix $7

The toys in Reddick's October BarkBox lasted a while. He still has them and plays with them frequently which goes to show you that they are good quality and made really tough. Just like I mentioned there are four subscriptions that you can sign up for with an extra cost for an extra toy which is also optional.

You can either sign up for:
1 Month at $29 or 1 Month with an extra toy at $38
3 Months at $72 or 3 Months with an extra toy at $99
6 Months at 126 or 6 Months with an extra toy at $180
12 Months at $228 or 12 Months with an extra toy at $336

If you use my refferal code: 7AM9J43IT6 YOU GET A FREE BOX when you sign up at BarkBox. For example, if you sign up for month-to-month, you purchase 1 box at $29 and get the following months for free! That's only $29 for two boxes when one box is over a $50 retail value. WOW!

If you have a dog and they love to play with toys and usually end up ruining them by the end of the day, then I highly recommend you try it out because these products are made to last. You can always cancel before they bill you again if you don't like it, but I guarantee your pup will want you to keep the subscription forever!

Caffeine with Christine (11/15)

This post is going up rather late because we took an unexpected trip out of town to Concord to visit Justin's cousin Stacy and her boyfriend Foster.

We had originally planned to go to the beach, but this was going to be a lot more relaxing, and something we haven't done before.

Last night, the four of us went to Black Diamond Brewery and drank some great tasting beer and had way too much fun playing a few rounds of Jenga.

We woke up to a big and windy rain storm and had a lazy Sunday morning after sleeping in. We made german sausage, scrambled eggs, and hashbrowns for breakfast and then spent the aftermoon watching Me, Myself, and Irene.

Perfect Sunday if you ask me! I hope you enjoyed your weekend. because we sure did. I want to start a new show on Netflix. I heard Narcos is really good. What do you recommend?

Carnivore Club - November Box & Review

Introducing: Carnivore Club- "SATISFY YOUR INNER CARNIVORE"

I was lucky enough to discover this fantastic company right before the holidays. I am a total foodie, and I absolutely LOVE subscription services. So when I found out about Carnivore Club and how they combine the two, it was a match made in meat heaven. My dad is a hunter and definite mountain-lover, so I grew up eating every kind of meat you can imagine.

what is carnivore club: "Carnivore Club is the world's first curated cured meat of the month club featuring artisans around the world.

what do you get: "A special Carnivore Club faux-wood box is sent to your home filled with 4-6 handcrafted cured meats. No two meats are alike, even if they have a similar name."

memberships: A one month purchase with no commitment is $55. If you purchase a recurring subscription with a minimum of three months and a choice of monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly, it's only $50.

I was sent the November box in the mail earlier last week and was very happy with what came inside. I recommend that you put your meat in the fridge after taking it out of the box, or even the freezer, depending on what you get and when you plan on eating it. There is a shelf life of one to three months and as long as you try to keep it above sixty degrees it should stay fresh.

There were four things plus a little extra card that came in the November Box ($55)

1. Rabbit and Pork Cheek Pate

This is a rabbit liver seasoned with garlic, parsley, and nutmeg.

I was really interested when receiving this in the box because it's something that I've never tried before. Like I said before, I've ate a lot of different meats over the years, but never rabbit liver.

This is the only product in the box that I haven't tried yet. I am saving it for a special occasion soon, and to make sure I pair it with some good side dishes.

2. Pork Jowl Bacon

This is a whole muscle, hand-trimmed bacon cured under brown sugar and maple syrup, seasoned with pepper and hickory.

I was SUPER EXCITED about this meat they included in the box. Bacon is becoming increasingly popular all over the world, and being able to try a delicacy is impressive.

This is not your average bacon, it is thick and full of flavor. I pan-fryed it over the stove and then crumbled it to put on top of a homemade pepperoni pizza and it was so so good.

3. Soppressata

This is a classic salami laced with black pepper, ginger, clove, and nutmeg.

I could eat an entire pound of salami by itself if I wanted to so being able to try the Soppressata was delightful.

They included the perfect amount which was satisfying enough to pair with some gourmet cheeses I had in my fridge.

I'm sure this would have been dynamite in a sandwich or even cooked inside a grilled cheese. Mmmmm!

4. Caramel Bacon Cheddar Popcorn

A sharp cheddar popcorn blended with caramel popcorn and caramelized bacon jewels. It does not contain Goose, like you may think from the label.

I expected to get at least four meats so I was shocked to see this popcorn in the box. I mean it contains bacon so I was still happy; and what a clever name.

It has a very strong spicy taste, so if you don't like food with a little kick you may not be a fan of this.

Carnivore Club is introducing a special holiday offer for $85 in which you can order a wooden meat crate for your meats to come in instead of the faux-wood box. It's made out of American Pine in the USA and will feature a branded Carnivore Club logo stained in an oak finish.

Since Christmas is right around the corner this would make an absolute perfect gift for anyone who likes meat. Guaranteed you'll be the only one to gift this box to someone and it would be something they'd actually enjoy! You can either deliver it directly to their house and add a personal holiday message, or you can get it shipped to your house and give it to them in person. On top of that you can also get a Carnivore Club gift card, so they can order for themselves or spread the meat love to someone else.

ORDER NOW and use code: Pearl10 to get an extra 10% off your entire purchase!

Happy Friday (13th)

Uhm, let's just skip the fact that it's Friday the 13th!
It's literally scary at how fast time is going by. I felt like this week didn't even happen. In a couple weeks Thanksgiving will be here, and then Black Friday and Cyber Monday, then it will be December already.. WHAT!

Christmas is right around the corner, as well as a new year. It's crazy.

It's Justin's birthday weekend and we are planning to take a day trip somewhere tomorrow. Possibly the beach, or maybe the mountains depending on how the weather plays out.

This donkey image to the left made me giggle, so I thought I'd share it for a little Friday humor. Do you have any plans for the weekend? Have you started you're holiday shopping yet?

I have a few exciting holiday posts coming up soon, on top of this months subscription boxes! Have a nice evening.

NEW Starbucks Cup Collection - My Favorites

Ever since Starbucks released their signature "red cup" ten days ago, people have had a lot to say. Taking to social media, coffee-drinkers are upset with the plain design this year, with absolutely no illustrations on the cup except their logo.

IT'S A PAPER CUP! I don't understand what all the hype is about. Now what I do understand is how cute their new cups are in their Winter Dot Collection. OMG!

Here are just my top ten favorites that I've come across in stores:

Red Lips Traveler $19.95 , Banana Traveler $19.95 , Confetti Traveler $19.95
Rainbow Macarons Mug  $12.95 , XOXO Mug $12.95 , Leopard Print Mug $12.95

Ferris Wheel Mug $12.95 , Golden Heart Mug $6.95 , Studded Cuff Mug $12.95

For all the people who are curious about this years red cup design, here is some good information from the company's website:

"This year’s iconic red Starbucks cup features a two-toned ombré design, with a bright poppy color on top that shades into a darker cranberry below."
“We have anchored the design with the classic Starbucks holiday red that is bright and exciting,” said Jeffrey Fields, Starbucks vice president of Design & Content. “The ombré creates a distinctive dimension, fluidity and weightedness.”
"Since 1997 Starbucks has served its holiday beverages in a unique cup, starting with a jazz-themed design in jewel tones of deeper reds, greens and blues. Every year since, the cup has told a story of the holidays by featuring symbols of the season from vintage ornaments and hand-drawn reindeer to modern vector-illustrated characters."
"Taking a cue from customers who have been doodling designs on cups for years, this year’s design is another way Starbucks is inviting customers to create their own stories with a red cup that mimics a blank canvas."

e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator

The e.l.f. lip exfoliator has been out for a few months apparently, but I just now discovered it online. I have already tried looking for it at all seven of my local Target stores but their either sold out or don't carry it.

"It gently exfoliates lips to remove dry chapped skin. It's infused with Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Avacado, Grape, and Jojoba Oils to nourish and protect. It treats and smooths lips for a conditioned and revitalized feel."

The exfoliator is in a lipstick tube with the same shape as a regular lipstick which makes it really easy to apply. It takes care of dryness and feels hydrating according to online reviews. For best results, it says to apply to clean, damp lips and massage in a circular motion to exfoliate. Use a moistened cotton pad with water to gently wipe away the scrub and dead skin. Follow with a lip balm or gloss to condition.

I cannot wait to get my hands on this. With a great price at only $3 it's a much cheaper alternative than other products like the LUSH Lip Scrub which is a whopping $10 for a small jar of "flavored sugar". I know you can make you're own lip scrub at home with a few simple ingredients, but sometimes having a product like the e.l.f. lip exfoliator is convenient enough to keep in your purse for a quick chapped lip fix.

Pandora Winter Collection - My 5 Favorites

They just opened an actual Pandora store at my local shopping mall which I was very excited about. Ever since my best friend Heather got me a Pandora bracelet for Christmas two years ago, I've been hooked. I've always had to go to Rogers Jewelers or Jared if I wanted to purchase anything, but now I'll be able to go to the retail store.

I recently went to the mall with my friend Allison because she wanted to buy an Apple Watch. The Pandora Store had just opened so I for sure wanted to stop in and take a look. They recently launched their Winter collection and I got to look, and try on some beautiful pieces, some which I fell in love with.

Pandora Winter Collection
These five pieces are the ones that stood out most to me. My absolute favorite and number one pick would have to be the radiant embellishment blue crystal ring which I tried on (and happened to be the right size; 7.5) and didn't want to take off. The picture does not even do the ring justice at all, because in person it looked like a thousand dollars just sparkling on my finger.

I currently own two Pandora bracelets (one silver, and one black leather) they aren't nearly filled yet, since I just started a couple years ago and pretty much only get charms as gifts. I also have one ring (the silver bow) and one pair of earrings (black studs with crystal trim). It means a lot when you get a piece of jewelry as a gift because it's something that will last you a lifetime.
