Caffeine with Christine (3/27)

There are so many things about a Holiday that I love.... The decorations, the great food, spending time with family, and the occasional presents aren't as bad. Despite the fact that I'm 23 years old, I still feel like a kid on Easter... I still get an Easter basket from my parents, and all of us twenty-somethings still do an Easter Egg hunt with money-filled plastic eggs.

My best friends Maureen and Heather came into town this week which was amazing, because I never get to see them. I was able to spend some quality time with the both of them. I got a bunch of the LUSH Easter collection so I will be super excited to use some of those new bath bombs. I had a lovely 3-day weekend, and I am sad that it's already over.

I hope you all have a productive week.  xoxo -Christine

17 Mile Drive

17 Mile Drive is a scenic road through Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove on the Monterrey Peninsula in California. A couple of years ago I had briefly taken the drive throughout the coast with a few friends but we didn't get to stop at every location to explore.

The road passes through famous golf courses, mansions, and scenic attractions including -- The Lone Cypress, Bird Rock, and the 5,300 acre Del Monte Forest. Non-residents have to pay a $10 toll fee per car to get in, but the awe-inspiring vistas and legendary sites are worth it.

You can easily spend an entire day exploring and discovering some of the most beautiful sites of the Pacific Ocean. After spending some time at Carmel Beach -- Justin, me, and some friends drove through 17 Mile Drive and then drove to Cannery Row for dinner. We ate at Louie Linguini's and had an ocean front view while eating some delicious clam chowder.

It was such a beautiful day... I definitely recommend you drive to see these beautiful views.

Target Haul

The only store that I can go into for one thing, and come out with a hundred things I don't need! But it just feels good sometimes to buy items for pleasure.

I have been searching for a hardback notebook that is small and easy for me to keep with me, and I found the cutest Mead Five Star Flower Print book for only $3.99  ....

Also, I found a pack of my absolute favorite Papermate Profile Pens in tons of fun colors. This will be the notebook that I keep all my notes and upcoming blog posts in.
I re-purchased my favorite shaving cream (Pure Silk for Sensitive Skin) and the L'Oreal Dry Shampoo that smells incredible. Also, Quebella Face Masks were on sale so I decided to try one for the first time. I also picked up some Summer's Eve cleansing cloths, panty-liners, and some self-tanning moisturizer -- similar to Jergins Natural Glow.

While I was shopping around, I was going up and down the skincare aisle looking for something that will help with removing dark spots. I've always heard great things about Bio Oil and I saw that they sold a small bottle for only $9.99 so I thought it would be perfect to try.

Anytime that I get a small pimple or oil bump and tend to pick at it, it always leave a dark spot. I have most of them in my inner thigh, and on the back of my leg, and a few on my chest, and shoulders. I will start applying the oil after I get out of the bath at night, so I'll let you know how it works in a few weeks.

Sneakers are becoming increasingly popular in the fashion industry and designers are starting to design more left and right.

For example -- Valentino, and Chanel has some pretty chic sneakers on the market, while other brands like Addidas, Nike, Converse, and New Balance have some classics that have been on the market for a lot longer.

Some sneakers that were on trend fifty years ago are sneakily starting to work their way up on the fashion latter today.

I created a collage of fifteen different sneakers that I would kill to have in my closet. Now lets get this straight.... No, these are not meant for working out, so try to style these with an updated/on-trend wardrobe.

Happy Mail by A Beautiful Mess - March 2016

HAPPY MAIL by A Beautiful Mess is a stationary subscription service containing cards, and cute snail mail prints.

I've loved sending and receiving cards, pretty much since I could write.

A well-written card can mean so much to someone, and it's always the thought that counts.

Every month I always get super excited to see the new cards that come into my box.

For only $15 a month (with a 12-month commitment) you get at least 9 cards with envelops, usually an art print, and some stickers, with an extra-- like a notepad.

This month is bright and floral, which totally screams SPRING!

If you love sending snail mail, or like to have a stock pile of cute cards you can send out to your out-of-town (or in-town) friends and family, then I recommend checking out A Beautiful Mess' Happy Mail subscription.

You won't be disappointed.

Snow Bunny

Justin and I took a trip to Shaver Lake from March 17th (Saint Patrick's Day) through today. We spend all of Thursday at China Peak snowboarding. Since I was a "first timer" I spend most of the day falling on my ass, which now includes a VERY sore tailbone.

Justin has been snowboarding since he was a kid so he was a natural. I ended up getting off the bunny hill and riding the chair lift to an "easy, but somewhat difficult mountain", but that ended up with me riding a snowmobile down with ski patrol instead of my snowboard. All in all, it was a fun day and I had no complaints.

We stayed at his family's cabin which is absolutely beautiful. The weather was a perfect fifty degrees throughout the day, with blue skies all around. I was a fun four days, but it's nice to be home. Time to prepare for another work week.

Hope you had a very lovely weekend.

7-Eleven's Annual "Bring Your Own Cup" Event is back and scheduled to run for two days this year, in celebration of their 50th Anniversary!

On Friday March 18th and Saturday March 19th from 11 AM to 7 PM bring in whatever drinking vessel you choose, to load up your Slurpee flavor of any choice for only $1.50.

Some people get extremely creative so they can get the most bang for their buck, but there are rules!

The container must be able to fir through a 10-inch hole.
It must be food safe, and also has to be water tight.
Also, you can't bring two cups, just one vessel per person.

What's Happening This Month

Spring will be here sooner than I can even fathom, which is crazy. This year is going by way too fast. This month is full of lots and lots of fun festivities that just makes me keep smiling. I will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) up at Justin's Winter cabin in Shaver Lake. His whole family goes up there every March to celebrate the holiday and play in the snow one last time before it melts. The first day of Spring is right after that, on the 20th and then the following Sunday is Easter.

If you're looking to relax and want to start some new reads, two new books were released this month:
-- Design Your Life by Rachel Roy
-- Cravings by Chrissy Tiegen
Also, Kate Hudson just recently released her new book, Pretty Happy... You could check that one out too!
I feel so guilty that I've been MIA lately, but I really needed a little break. If only blogging was my all I had to focus on.... Maybe some day. I am still in school, have a full time job (outside of the internet), and a personal life, as well as a fur child who I try to spend as much time as I can with. So, busy is an understatement. I put together this short YouTube video for a computer class and thought I'd share it with you. ENJOY, Have a great rest of your day!
